She loves the Hymes, I can't wait for her to hear this for herself. She loves the Lord and have been blessed by God with wisdom, health, music, knowledge. How do you know who's songs are inspired or not ? Do you believe any have been, that weren't included in the Scriptures ? I do. Whether based loosely or word-for-word on scriptures, Bible verses, or not, I have heard or read many "songs, hymns and spiritual songs" which seemed to me to be definitely inspired by God, and others which seemed to be, if not directly inspired, still good - and helpful to many. I am of a fairly cautious mind and feelings when it comes to plenty of contemporary music, but have learned to be even MORE cautious of legalism, of being overly critical, possibly too sensitive, or suspicious, or whatever else along those lines. I have seen such things stumble ppl themselves, their children and their unsaved neighbors etc. .. . I have seen in scripture the warnings against such, and have lived very closely with "real life" experiences of WHY and HOW that matters and the damage it does. Every bit as bad OR WORSE than being too carnal, wordly or immature of a Christian in those ways. Seriously !!! Besides all that, just plain on the surface of/basic reading of your comment, I'm reminded that GOD encourages us, in His word (several times no less ) to go ahead and "sing a new song to the LORD" and to sing to each other "songs, hymns and spiritual songs" . That Jesus had to rebuke his disciples from THEIR rebuke or others who were witnessing for the LORD on their own/outside of their group and direct, obvious leadership of Jesus' . Even the parable of the wheat and the tares comes to mind a bit here.. . Has it's application in a few ways, I think. Obviously, I'm not God, so, definitely study His word and seek His input and any conviction or affirmation He may give you. Just plz do be open to correction, just in case ! Much love and may God be with us, correcting, growing and teaching us all, amen. PS: IMO of the many songs, Hymns and etc. that I think ARE inspired by God, I think of many written in the 1800s and early 1900s hymns and songs, and Judy Rodgers songs of the late 1900s come to mind - many of them basically Bible verses but even ones totally not ( such as "Alligator shoes"). I wasn't exposed to much Christian music until the past 15 years, and then still not all of it by any means and I dislike hard rock and rap sounds, but I have heard some of those I do think may be OK ( "attitude" wise) and def. good lyrics, and a LOT of the popular, contemporary worship music sung in many churches has seemed very good, quite a bit of which I would guess to be even "inspired" , esp. many of Phil Wickham's songs. For those of us who've lived very, very, very challenging lives full of family issues, abuses done to us and loved ones, very tough, ongoing health issues and more, imo... maybe we are better able to sense the hand of God in some of these songs, than those who maybe haven't gone thru as much or as complex of, sufferings and abuse/traumas & isolations. I was blessed to have had a LOT of solid, Christian resources available to me, gradually, throughout my decades of this, and a background of both more classical, conservative and so on PLUS other... .

Do u realize that the Breath of God's lips u just talked about is a direct reference to Christ Jesus "The Word'.
