I finally understood what he meant by changing our names. He means it as in the titles that we are given by society. such as, "Idealist, Dreamer, Social anxiety disorder, Suicidal person etc. He means to say that we are much more than these tittles/names that we are given. Hence the line where he says, "why don't we talk first, then you'll understand everything" & "Anything (any tittle) is fine, I want to hear what you have to say first." Just thought I'd mention it in case someone was wondering about what he meant :)

Rather than just listening to the melodies(many people do), people should understand what a song is trying to express. The song has souls and can be called "REAL MUSIC" to me. Your explanation is wonderful and I appreciate that.

yes agreed! very much appreciated. This thing called nuance got lost in midst of seeking order and trying to grasp the multitude of ideas in this world

This is why i listened to music. This is what most of famous J-rock artist have.... It's really like they are telling us their story , a story through their song, putting their souls, their feels.That's the J-rock things 😁
@seherling2073 жыл бұрын
@@phuyaibankaengkro Thev song is not discrediting the disorder. As op said, people put labels on you and that's the only thing they see. You say you have Social Anxiety Disorder and that's all people will see you as, as someone with the disorder and ignore your story, accomplishments, and much more
Looking at the date of this video, 9 years ago I was still student, teenager with no responsibilites, 2 years ago I was diagnosed with a rhumatoid disease and had difficulties with accepting that, one year ago I was employed and trying to accomplish something in my life, now I'm unemployed seeking for new opportunites to fulfill that pride inside of me. Life changes, and so do people, kid become adult who soon becomes labeled with society's categories: employed, unemployed, single, married, introvert or extrovert and the list goes on.. this song always hits something inside me, Thank you amazarashi for this beautiful piece.

"Please don't judge me before getting to know me. Afterwards, you can call me anything you wish, but please get to know me first." That's the underlying message I feel in this song - for me, atleast. I've experienced social disgrace without understandable cause in the past, and back then, the only thing I wished for was that people got to know me before listening to the things said about me. "Get to know me, and then you can say things about me. But please don't let the rumors decide for you who I am. Please, don't ignore me. Please, at the very least, listen to me." People are meant to be more than their labels, but its a fact that we label people all too often. It's not something we can avoid. The problem is when you let labels decide your perception without thinking twice, and that's where a lot of people fail in.

I am pretty certain that "kaoiro" doesnt refer to skin colour, but expression/emotions. This is also explains the lines after and makes much more sense with the whole song. Emotions of expressions is one of the meanings of "kaoiro" The protagonist of the song is looking at people's faces to look in what mood they are and changes how he behaves accordingly, fitting into the larger narrative of the song being about "labels" and him being labeled as "good mannered" as a kid and thus by trying to fit the label he tries to be likable by behaving accordingly to others emotions so other people will find him likeable.
@nakerebanaranaiАй бұрын
I agree. Just to expand on what you wrote: 顔色 means "complexion" (the natural color, texture, and appearance of a person's skin, especially of the face.). In Japanese, 顔 (kao) means 'face' and 色 (iro) means color. "Complexion" is a synonym of "skin color", however, in Japanese, "顔色" (kaoiro) doesn’t just mean physical complexion (like skin tone); it also carries a deeper connotation of someone's emotional state. For example: a pale face might suggest fear or nervousness; a flushed face could indicate anger or embarrassment; a neutral expression might suggest calmness or indifference. This line seems to criticize a deeply ingrained aspect of Japanese culture: the strong emphasis on avoiding conflict and maintaining harmony, which leads people to prioritize group cohesion over individual expression. As a result, people often end up suppressing their personal opinions or adjusting their attitude to fit the situation.
