Hyosung GT650R acceleration and sound

Drive by, acceleration and sound of my Hyosung GT650R EFI from 2010.

Acceleration 0-150: 1:30

I fell in love with the GT650R in 2009 as i first saw it in the showroom. I've been thinking about buying one. But i've read a lot about broken engine parts on the internet. I'm still interested in this bike. Love the look, love the sound of the V-twin. How is your experience with the durability? And what about spare parts? Regards from Germany ✌🏼

I own a 2012 model and let me tell you that this bike is a fckin mess, the engine is the only thing that is robust, everything else is utter crap especially electronics, I suggest you get it if its a marvelous deal but expect to replace alot of parts

Blanket statement for anyone wanting to buy a Hyosung ...buy a sv650 instead......and to all those but Hyosung build motors for Suzuki.....technically true but that are built under the practice and supervision of Suzuki in Hyosung factory's ..the engine is the only mildly reliable thing about the hyosungs even then the tranmission tends to go pretty often, and all the electronics will fail within the first few years and the frames are heavy and quite brittle. Just take my word for it the sv650 is better in almost every way and is around the same price.

bit of a late reply since you posted that comment 2 years ago but i bought a 2010 gt (11 months ago) had no problems except for the regulator which cost me $110 dollars to fix

danijelkoletnik not heard good things. Cheap build quality and shoddy electrics. This is what I have heard from a shop who sells them brand new (but won't be for too much longer )

I blew 2nd,3rd and 4th gear under 5000rpms and only have 12,000 miles on it sad bc the bike was pretty fun and handled great for what it was

Wtf.. excuse me but you should fix your bike.. Fl Warnings and your first and second gear are marked as neutral gear? And if you switch the different gears correctly you can reach 0-150 in under 7 seconds

The FI is because of the aftermarket exhaust.. And the neutral is a minor fix in the gear indicatior in the transmission department

Nops, aftermarket exaust dont cause FI, maybe FI because gear sensor, in Brazil we call this gp sensor. Sorry bad linguage.

No.... hyosung is not good company. (I'm korean) because their A/S is very bad and they can't repair about their bike!!!! So many of korean don't buy a bike what made of hyosung.

I own a 2010 Hyosung 650r De-Restricted You have your good and bad. They're dirt cheap and decently pretty quick too. But they do have problems charging the battery at times and disdat.

Company is from Korea, not China as you can think. It is easilt accessible in Europe, possibly in USA as well. In Poland no issue to buy one. I am driving 2nd of them. Standard power is 73HP, however there is chip mod making 83HP out of it without swapping any elements. I was using GT650P (naked) from 2012, made like 15-16k km and it ended on BMW... now driving another one, GT650R this time, also from 2012 (no ABS). It is great motorcycle, not like most of Chinese low budget bikes. Chain, sprockets, all is high quality. Depending on release, it is riding on Bridgestone BT023 or BT19 Battlax tires, GT650R has better stock tires. This is V engine with good torque compared to 100HP bikes like CBR 600 F3-F4, but it starts even better cause most of torque is available from 4000 rpm. Seat is not very comportable, i recommend to replace with custom one if you plan trips over 200 km. Also, watch for screws in side fairings, cause they like to unscrew and be lost. Moreover, that engine issue you see on the movie (Injection red light), this is wrong map or battery not mounted properly, it can be easily removed. Pain in the ass is changing light bulbs, especially short lights (road lights), access to bulb is awful, but you can live with that. Most of people remove all fairings and unmount head lamp to do that, but it can be done easier. Reasumming, it is great bike to have fun if that power and torque is enough for you.
