I'm the guy who won the KC tournament. I love Vanquisher Prime + 6 Vanquishers is a blast to play. The t6 is insane for just about anything out on the field to try and break. The thing that I love about this list is that their faction specific abilities only require 2 dice. You only need 3 or 4 for the generic ones. As said, they are all about positioning. Block lanes with their big base, have that reach, and punish your opponent. Oh, and for the monsters. I just powered them down. Especially since the first match for turn 1 it was just their single monster on the board and 3 of my guys.

Nice list. The only thing I would change is to make it more fun is the leader. Calthia Xandire has access to coordinated strike for 210 points, which could be pretty strong with the phalanx, especially in turn 1. (1-3 move or attack action for a triple) If you replace a Vindictor with a Gryph Hound, you could afford it and you still have 7 fighters.

@@laszlotakacs5046 Oh, the list is far from perfect, but it is very consistent. All the models have the same stats, same abilities. Less to reference and cross check and verify. Easy to play.

​​@@yendub I was just thinking on the version I would probably run. I have 1 Vindictor so far from a painting workshop. :D I tend to lean towards to non-mono unit lists to have more abilities, because it gives me options. But it's just my preference.

I just picked up the AoS Warrior starter set for $43 online to use as the base for my new Kruleboyz warband. It's got the same Kruleboyz models that Dan talks about, plus if you add a Gryph-Hound or Old Guard then you've got 1000 points of Stormcast too.

Thanks for all of this content. My local group just started playing Warcry and your videos have been super helpful. Also, good to know I am on the right track with my warband. My warband is the upgraded number one pick in your video. I play SC in AoS so I already had the Vidicitors and Annhilators. I picked up a cool Battle for Skull Pass dwarf for less than $10 on eBay to round out the squad.

Hell yeah, love these budget videos. Before coming around to the Tzaangors box, I was toying with making a Kairic Acolytes list just because there's a bunch of slightly different fighter types (and I got a good deal on the box on eBay) but I don't think the profiles are compelling besides just having a couple of flavors. I'd still tinker with a "Bodybuilder Book Club" list of Acolytes + Ogroid Thaumaturge but it's probably not rising above being a joke list.

2 Ogroids (leader+hero) + the cheapest acolytes to fill the rest actually does sound interesting, as you got a decent amount of bodies and all have ranged magic attacks on top of their melee profile. But it really depends on the map.

Another budget list is knight arcanum, 5 vindictors and the tree-revenant leader (I use an underworlds miniature for this). This list is super powerful and the SCE can be bought easily with the Start Here options if you have a friend to give the Kruleboyz to.

Hi Dan, write here from Italy. I think the AOS warrior starter set is absurd for the convenience (at least in Europe, I don't know the price for US): for 40 euros (more or less the same in dollars) you can get two very viable teams (Stormcast and Kruleboyz). One can share it with a friend for half price, if they please. But, I mean: for 40 box having two really good viable bands is worthed even if one buys it on their own and be more than happy :)

Box of Packmasters, Rat Ogors and Giant Rats. As low as $35 online. 125 Master Moulder (kitbash onto a larger base) 450 2x Rat Ogor 140 2x Packmaster 280 4x Giant Rat 995/9 Your tiny rats do very little bit the Rat Ogors will do a ton of work.

On Kruleboyz expansion possibilities, I think maybe the point values are off? 4x Gutrippaz = (75x4) = 300 and 2x Rockguts = (185x2) = 370 But I could be missing something. Either way, amazing content especially for brand new players!

You're right. Strangely enough, the points add up to 1k once I adjust to the correct point values. So it looks like I built the list legally, then just made a bunch of typos when I transcribed it.

It's crazy that the best starter set for Warcry is the Dominion box. Top 2 budget warbands from one box, throw in some random terrain and the free rules and you're off!

If you can find an Ogor Ironguts box it will allow for more variety as its a glutton box with an upgrade sprue adding 2 more gnoblars and the ability to make Gutlords and Ironguts alongside the gluttons and crusher.

I saw another vid a while ago where someone was suggesting the warrior starter set as a super budget way to "replicate" a warcry box (2 warbands and some terrain, which was done via chopping up the cardboard box it comes in). It's basically got your #2 and #1 warbands in it (the stormcast one you've got the knight arcanum + 5 vindictors, and the kruleboyz is your exact list?). I got that as an intro, but I don't think I was particularly expecting the lists to be actually solid! I think I initially proxied the standard bearer vindicator as an extra prime for points but then got some gryph hounds to give some speed and options. I don't know how US prices compare, but in the UK you might be able to get rivals of harrowdeep (your video rated those warbands in Warcry?) off eBay and the warrior set for a little more than 2 boxes of tzaangors and that could give you 2 warbands with variety there beyond the basic static load out you otherwise get left with at about your price point...? (Well, 2x the price point for 2x warbands)

For Tzeentch mortals, would Acolytes and Magisters be viable, or are they inferior to Tzaangors in every way?

The Old Guard can be built from the Longbeards/Hammers box, which is available from GW. That box is quite good. It has 2 hero options (Keeper of the Gate and Old Guard) and 3 fighter options (Hammers and 2 kind of Longbeards). It is possible to build up to 4 heroes (2 of each), but I would not recommend it. BTW, 9 Hamerers + 1 Keeper of the Gate + 1 Warden King are exactly 1000 points.

Dispossessed are really nice. I just worry about whether they'll still exist in a year.

@@thesaltyseagames I hope they stay. I won the Oslo tournament this weekend with my Hammerer/Longbeard list In any case, a friend gave me some of his dispossessed minis and now I have more than enough to play Warcry (assuming they stil have rules on the next version of the game).

@@thesaltyseagames it looks like the dispossessed will stay a bit longer with the new Norgrimm’s Rune Throng box. Hope the price is reasonable...

Lol yeah I mentioned it in the video. It's just a typo, the list was made with Vindictors in mind. I blame GW for making stormcast names so ridiculous.
