Changing sign of either x or y retains the surface equation. So our hyperbolic paraboloid has two planes of symmetry I was looking into the problem for particular curves and the intersection between hyperbolic paraboloid and the cartesian equation of planes, such as plane :x+y+z =1 x²-y²+z =1 x²-y²+1-x-y =1 (x+y)(x-y) - (x+y) =0 (x+y)(x-y-1) =0 how would we interpret these lines?
