Imagine the potential if someone could create the link cable. I mean, you'd have to travel far across the globe to find someone to play a multiplayer Virtual Boy game with, but it sure would be incredible. Maybe even just jam Pokémon into it and have it link up with an unofficially made link cable.
@RetroRGB4 жыл бұрын

Oh, better yet. Teleroboxer with multiplayer, but the only issue with that is that Harry does not have a third-person sprite with its own animations. They would instead have to convert one of the existing robots into a first-person perspective, which would be easier, excluding the fact that Harry is the character known for their lightning fists. Therefore, seeing other robots use it wouldn't make sense. Well, I'm sure they will find a way to make multiplayer work in that game. And it will be a glorious day when it does.

If the developer is listening, I am willing to pay extra for a deluxe version that has a on-system menu, uses a faster processor for much quicker loading of certain games, and has a color e-ink display. Other than that, I absolutely love this thing just from this video. The virtual boy gets a lot of flack and most of it is deserved, but it's not a bad system to play if you can find a comfortable position. Frankly, I still absolutely love the system's controller. Why don't more systems use that "bike handle" style grip with shoulder buttons on the back instead of on top?
@mellott1244 жыл бұрын
I am listening. :-) I can do most of those. Color eInk is too slow though. HF32 was originally color eInk but updates to final image are around 10 seconds. The requests for on screen interface didn’t work with that. Now if it’s all on VB screen, it may come back as an option.
@Dark_Jaguar4 жыл бұрын
@@mellott124 Oh that makes a lot of sense, thank you for listening! I'm content using a VB displayed menu personally, but I have to admit the option to use the cart itself to make my selection is appealing... Hmm- I suppose for me personally what clinches it in favor of the slower color (if it WERE up to me that is) is the USB cable requirement to use the menu on-cart.
@MarioPfhorG4 жыл бұрын
@@Dark_Jaguar trouble is where would it get power from? Can’t imagine there’s a lot of room to fit an internal battery to power the screen. I also love the idea of using a screen to display the art of the game you’re playing, just such a cool idea! But yes would ultimately like to have the option to just use an in-VB menu to select games.
@Dark_Jaguar4 жыл бұрын
@@MarioPfhorG eInk doesn't need power to maintain an image, just to change it, and that goes for color eink too.
@FoxyAnimater Жыл бұрын
quick question, why can't we have both for consoles like the N64 or consoles that have the cartridge sticking out of the system? that way when you load the rom, it's associated cartridge art is displayed while you play? and esspecially with a color eink display, I think it would look really neat, not to mention that it will also reduce wear on thoes older N64, SNES, NES(the top loading ones) etc. systems while looking nice at the same time.
@RetroRGB Жыл бұрын
The one and only reason: Cost. How many people would pay double for a flash cart with that feature? I mean, I ABSOLUETLY would for SNES and Genesis...but not any other console. Maybe I'm wrong though and Kevin should work with Krikzz on eInk versions of the Everdrives: www.retrorgb.com/romcarts.html
@MousePounder4 жыл бұрын
Yes please.
@relo9992 жыл бұрын
I really hate that it doesn't have an menu system like a everdrive, not only does it only add cost it makes it more of a hassle to switch games and the eink you not much of anyway when in use. It's a good looking gimmick, but that's it. I wish there was a virtualboy flashcart that didn't try to reinvent the wheel or is uses an extremely dated method of loading roms.

Yes, tactile feedback is a big thing that is taken for granted. That's the main reason for the haptic inside, which is also a game phones play. Unfortunately there's only 3mm of height in the HF32 cart so not much room for tactile buttons. It's a compromise but I think it came out OK on HF32.
