Sxyrox FC The huntsman te have pinging sounds, bad rattle and you can’t lube it. The hyperx red is smooth, not sure if there’s any pinging but I’m planning to get the keyboard since my huntsman te have bad pining. You can easily replace the hyperx alloy origin keycaps with some double shot pbt keycaps for like $25 on amazon. You can lube the stabilizer some way pretty sure. If I was you, I would pick the hyperx alloy origin core. If you have high ping like 70-100 the razer huntsman te is useless.

That's a pretty decent keyboard, but I have to agree with you. I'm not entirely sure why they went with their own switches. I'm sure there's a reason, and I'd love to get a little insight into their decision making process, so if you hear from them, let us know. I'm curious as to what your thoughts are on the subject of detachable number pads. I'm spending quite a bit more time working from home now, I find myself in need of a numpad, but I REALLY don't want the bulk ALL the time (my personal preference is a TKL keyboard). As such, I'm looking at two...maybe three scenarios. 1: Just add a standalone numerical pad to my current setup (velocifire tkl02) and call it a day. 2: Find a suitable keyboard that has an integrated, and detachable numpad and put a dent in the ole wallet. 3: Stop being a whiny little b!%(# about it and re-learn how to type numbers "properly". 😁

I think that HyperX is trying to transition to their own switch, like most companies do lately (razer, steelseries, logitech, etc). I don’t know if they still got lots of Cherry MXs in stock or they are just doing a slower transition to see how the market responds to their Cherry clone. One think I know is that, of all switch manufacturers, Cherry is asking for the highest premium (they are the original and manufacturing in Germany isn’t cheap after all). I one or two years they will probably do a complete transition and with more switch flavors available.
