The HyperX switches are smoother than the cherry Mx switches. Also, for professional gaming that small actuation distance can make a bit of a difference, where every millisecond matters.

Sxyrox FC The huntsman te have pinging sounds, bad rattle and you can’t lube it. The hyperx red is smooth, not sure if there’s any pinging but I’m planning to get the keyboard since my huntsman te have bad pining. You can easily replace the hyperx alloy origin keycaps with some double shot pbt keycaps for like $25 on amazon. You can lube the stabilizer some way pretty sure. If I was you, I would pick the hyperx alloy origin core. If you have high ping like 70-100 the razer huntsman te is useless.

G.Skill has a pretty nice TKL with reds in white. (KM 360). Razer produce a few of their models in what they call "mercury white" too. Corsair have their white versions as well some models, ducky, and various others I can think of, they are just harder to get but they will become more mainstream as more and more builders to white builds.

That's a pretty decent keyboard, but I have to agree with you. I'm not entirely sure why they went with their own switches. I'm sure there's a reason, and I'd love to get a little insight into their decision making process, so if you hear from them, let us know. I'm curious as to what your thoughts are on the subject of detachable number pads. I'm spending quite a bit more time working from home now, I find myself in need of a numpad, but I REALLY don't want the bulk ALL the time (my personal preference is a TKL keyboard). As such, I'm looking at two...maybe three scenarios. 1: Just add a standalone numerical pad to my current setup (velocifire tkl02) and call it a day. 2: Find a suitable keyboard that has an integrated, and detachable numpad and put a dent in the ole wallet. 3: Stop being a whiny little b!%(# about it and re-learn how to type numbers "properly". 😁

I think that HyperX is trying to transition to their own switch, like most companies do lately (razer, steelseries, logitech, etc). I don’t know if they still got lots of Cherry MXs in stock or they are just doing a slower transition to see how the market responds to their Cherry clone. One think I know is that, of all switch manufacturers, Cherry is asking for the highest premium (they are the original and manufacturing in Germany isn’t cheap after all). I one or two years they will probably do a complete transition and with more switch flavors available.

@@bekahsmith1317 Thanks sharing your idea! We like to think one of the different parts of our channel to others is the original music and having it used elsewhere might take that "specialness" away from it, which is why we offer it to Patreon for personal use only. :) :)

As soon as I saw it was a TKL keyboard, I knew it was not for me. I prefer Full Sized keyboards.

You can buy the exact same one but with a numpad, it’s called Origins (without the „Core” in it)

What's wrong with HyperX making their own switch. I don't understand why that bothers you so much. Good Review tho.

can't wait to buy this, plus their double shot pbt keycap with transparent edge... I already own the HyperX Alloy with the numpad included, but does not have the UBS type C for the keyboard end, and only red lightning. (costs ~25$ less than this.)

For those of you searching for a great TKL mechanical keyboard, I´ve been using this one for a few weeks now for Home office and Gaming and it has been great, highly recommended keyboard, the issues with the software have been fixed (at least almost all of them) and the quality is exceptional. I believe that for the money, you can´t find something better than this overall.
