Mid-range budget? The film, which should never have been greenlit (content is king!), is reported to have cost 90 million USD. As an aside, this ridiculous concept (which can still be fun) has been done better in other movies and on television.

Alan, how about a review summary first: what kind of film is it, the budget, what type of the story is it, what genre? Jumping into story plot points and mechanisms is not very interesting. What about how it unfolded for you, the reviewer?

A predictable and cliché filled film, but I's still going to watch it. After all, it cannot be worse than Wendy and Peter Pan, which was surprisingly praised by Alan.

The movie's about a guy trying to find his daughter and the series of discoveries you make over the course of one scene after another of boring annoying endless exposition upon exposition about what really happened. It's a shamelessly wannabe Inception + Hitchcock that woefully falls short!!

Robert Rodriguez has been seeing his filmmaking career slide downward in recent years as a few of his films went straight to either Netflix or Tubi(/TubiTV) which is a very sad thing considering how multi talented he is as a filmmaker,as the sole good thing he's done is have Jeff Fahey as a reportoire regular in his latter theatrical releases as Fahey deserves to be seen in more theatrical films. And for HYPNOTIC,Rodriguez should have had Nicolas Cage in Ben Affleck's role and Kiefer Sutherland in William Fincter's role as both Nicolas and Keifer are more affable for those type of films in a film such as this one,as a Letterbox film critic(that being Mark Tinta) said that he's surprised that HYPNOTIC wasn't released to Netflix or Tubi nor theatrically released by Cinedigm,(Lionsgate sublabels) Saban Films and Grindstone Entertainment,or even Neon or Gravita Ventures.

Honestly i feel like ben affleck agreed to be in this movie because jlo put him up to it. The whole movie theres a female latina character that basically continues to put ben in his place over and over again. I know thats a stretch to say but it Just felt like something she influenced, since they just got back together and its pretty clear jlo has the gawk gawk 9000 and she sucked all of bens brians out. He should have stuck to making movies like air.

It had so much potential. The trailer looked good. Then i actually watched it. Affleck was better in phantoms than this movie. They really overdo the whole hypnosis used to kill people bullcrap which has been proven not to work.
