Hysen Pulaku puts on a clinic on the Bulgarian System and how Hysen has now adapted to the brutal training under coaches Abadjiev and Krychev. Two more weeks of this and then he tapers for the Olympics. He is close to body weight now and has put himself in a good position to achieve his Olympic dream.

Just wanted to say that Hysen and this team is an inspiration. With an injured wrist, I adopted the bulgarian principles and began squatting to max daily. After two weeks, I have already added 20lbs to my max squat. Watching world class athletes like this every week has convinced me that I am capable of much more than I thought. Many thanks!

this is part of the methodology, to adapt and make multiple maximum attempts. This is the way we coach. It produced many Olympic champions, world champions and countless world records. And yes, some lifters will get injured, but if they worry about injuries, they will not adapt to the system and their results will reflect it.

Boevski's father coached Valentin Dinov, who was a 2 time Jr. world champion. I have an interview with him on my home youtube page. Galabin's father would also then be responsible for Galabin's involvement in lifting as well. No doubt you know Enver, but I have read interviews and seen the workouts of some of his lifters like Svetlana Podebedova, and its not exactly like Abadjiev's system. when he coached for Turkey, Naim and Halil had rest periods after a major competition.

Ok thanks, these numbers make a lot of sense then, he's doing well to keep hitting near the 200kg mark at his bw in his current state! Exceptional lifter.

The tapering starts two weeks before the Olympics. The volume and the intensity are lowered gradually.

We think that, at the Olympics, Hysen will be capable of doing 360, which will probably be good for a medal. Anything above that would be a bonus.

Hysen was tapered after the Euros. He also weighed 84 to 85kg. He's getting the shit kicked out of him now. He is also close to weight. When he tapers, he will be fine, but he has two more weeks of this.

Odd that he is now missing jerks, compared to a few months ago when I don't think there were any jerk misses in these vids. I presume it is due to the ever increasing volume. Let's hope he starts hitting 200kg+ again with ease once he tapers.

I hope he doesnt get injured but the way he recovers from his jerks, he usually has to take one big step forward then stagger to recover. puts more stress on the elbows.

Meehhh, I have been prone to do that no matter how much I try working on it, Ive never missed a jerk from recovering that way but I feel what you mean. I hate it

Your information is wrong. Boevski’s father is not a coach. Enver Turkilery, who is a very good friend of mine, is a student of Abadjiev. He applies the Abadjiev’s system when he trains his lifters. I know it firsthand. I visited him in Kazakhstan and spent time with him there, watching how he trains the Nat’l team. As far as motivation, I’ve said many times before that motivation is a big part of developing a world class athlete

No, I was sorry for the people behind Podium Gold. For the expectations they had on Hysen. For the big shock that it would have meant for them to find out about the news a year ago (as well as for everyone else that was following him). And, also, for the loss of such great potential. He used steroids AND got caught (sadly, chinese whispers indicate that most athletes do), so he deserves the punishment. However, that does not take away the fact that he is a very gifted athlete
@podiumgoldwlclub
@podiumgoldwlclub 12 жыл бұрын
Your observation is correct. However, it depends on the objective. If the athlete’s objective is not to be a World class lifter, yes, he/she does not have to do that brutal training day in and day out. Remember, Olympic and World champions are ordinary people, becoming extraordinary by going through extremes.

Naim chose to take those rest periods, it's in the Naim book written by Ever Turkilery. Those rest periods hurt Naim, he would go to clubs and drink after winning Gold Medals, many Olympic Champions fall to this type of activity. It's only natural after lots of hard work and achieving your goals to want and go have fun and party, but that doesn't mean it is good for the athlete. As far as I know Enver Turkilery trains weightlifters just as Abadjiev does and this is why Turkey and now Kazak good.

I saw the video and I am sorry to disappoint you,but that young man,Valentin Dinov, was never World champion I never heard of him I asked Abadjiev,he never heard of him. I also, have the book that the Bulgarian Federation published in 2006, that includes all medalists from Olympics,Worlds,and European juniors and men championships His name is not there He says his coach was Izo Boevski Galabin’s father is Pepo Boevski.Galabin became World class lifter when Abadjiev took him in the Nat’l team.

Still dont see him getting injured, he is experienced. I see how you say he COULD the way he misses, but I doubt it. If he does, well thatll really suck, but he always goes for gutsy attempts. And the reason he is struggling with 198 and got 205 easier is because he weighed 81-82 during that, hes cut weight.

@kraftsportNO

Oh - he seemes fearless, and had some great hoisting of weights. I think he would've displayed the same qualities, although with lesser weights in a clean field. It's kind of a shitty thing, as you have to dope to be competitive, and it makes it much of a roulette thing, will you be able to escape the testers out of competition, and are you skilled enough to not get caught doping coming comp day. If steroids was cracked down on much harder, we would avoid all this shit.
@qtpie2630
@qtpie2630 6 жыл бұрын
meanwhile other lifters who dope as well dont get caught because of better testing inside the team, i think the tests at this point are pointless because everyone is using steroids is now just a matter of who gets caught. Either completely banish steroids from the face of earth or professional athletes will use it regardless of testing procedures and i think great talents like hysen here are dismissed because they got caught, so what everyone does it...

I know its the way Abadjiev coaches, but from Bulgaria, Enver Terkuleri and Coach Boevski (Galabins' father) produced champions with different methods. You would have to agree the motivation to train in this way was greater under communism.
@powmongo
@powmongo 12 жыл бұрын
I'm not disapointed. If Valentin is lying (which I have no idea why he would) then he's a liar. The issue with Valentin and Boevksi aside, you have to agree the chances of injury increase when someone staggers around to stabalize jerks and misses jerks behind them. This observation is not meant to merely critize Abadijiev, yourself or the Bulgarian system. I look at missed lifts like this like a football coach looks at a player who takes many hard hits. How long will he last with this pace?

i just cannot understand how someone with such small muscular physique be capable of such a feat of strength. Muscle is what generates these abilities. Stronger muscle = heavier lifts. And the stronger a muscle gets then so must its size also become (bigger) right?!

I know a lot more than you. I have coached 7 national champions and 2 olympians in weightlifting. I also learned from Shin-Ho Kang the former coach of S. Korea. If one misses jerks in the fashion Hysen does the likelihood of injury increases. He has already done 205, what is the point of struggling so much with 198?

So you're soory? Sorry for what? You're sorry because a lifter who breached the rules of IWF got caught? Or are you sorry for that he were doping, and can no longer compete? Do you support the rules, ie. drug free lifting? This is a part of the sport, and when you dope in a tested fed, you run a real risk of being caught at one point. There's nothing to be sorry about, Hysen can handle it. Or do you feel sorry foryouself because you can't see him at the weightlifting stage ?
@ChknAdobo
@ChknAdobo 11 жыл бұрын
i understand how steroids work. it aids in the rebuilding of muscle, and therefore allowing the body the ability to rejuvenate faster and lift more. but my question still stands. hysen has so little visible muscle mass in his upper body, how does he hold the weight up!?. Im still a naive weightlifter - so i guess its just supreme technique.
