That's nice, but can we please just have a button to manually pre-condition in the EV6?

@@keegan854 Ioniq 5 needs a manual preconditioning option as well. l have to wait 20-22 minutes while charging in 28°F before charge rate ramps up over 60kW to 130. Can't get to 80% from 20% in 30 min (maybe 77% ). When it does kick on (hasn't so far this season) I've gotten an 80% charge in 18min (230 kW). Almost done with 2 yrs free charging and will mostly charge at home, so won't be an issue going forward, but sad that Hyundai has ignored this.

I do have preconditioning in my 2021 ioniq 5 , later installed software brought me this...if I tell my ioniq where I want to charge along my route. (Also a reason, together with TMC, to use navigation on known routes). I found out that every time when I drive to my family the car knows more (fast)chargers along the route. Also the navigation already is using online maps.

I'm so happy more manufacturers are switching to Android Automotive. Leave infotainment to the pros. My only worry is longterm support... I like Google but they tend to drop products the moment they lose traction. What happens if/when Google decides to drop support and switches off the servers?

I've noticed this already! Latest software update now shows all the charging stations in my near vicinity on Google Maps. The challenge is too many ChargePoints out there, and not enough Electrify Americas.

That is something Google added to Maps. It does not integrate into the Hyundai system so that preconditioning can be switched on. That is what Hyundai is working to bring you soon.

I always use android auto on ours and google maps is great at showing nearby charger locations on the maps as you drive. It titles them like Slow (I would guess L2), Medium (maybe 40-65kw), Fast and Superfast and on many of them shows status (1/4, 4/6)... Much better than the cars nav system that can be out of date from months to years.

I really like this. When I see newer cars from Hyundai and Kia, I get a little jealous of the infotainment system. But thinking about it, what I really want is a more accurate navigation system. I'm actually satisfied with the look of the navigation system in the EV6 (2024), and having the Google Maps data would be a big win.

I wouldn't hold your breath. I've been pretty disappointed in how little Hyundai supports their existing customers when it comes to new features. No preconditioning button on older models, very little map/nav UI updates. And it sounds like they are only offering free NACS adapters to people who bought their car in the last few months. That being said, if they are ending their TomTom contract we may all get Google integration just so Hyundai doesn't have to pay for multiple map providers.

This is a good idea for American Car manufacturers. I've thought for a while now that it makes more sense to leave the NAV system to a NAV company, and Google has become the defacto standard. Auto makers do not want to have software engineers forever updating older model cars, so this lets them partially off the hook, while ensuring older cars still have usable NAV systems. Yes, data harvesting pays for the service, because nothing in the US is free, but you can limit some of that using blocking apps and setting the permissions for the NAV app. In the end, it might be less of an issue on a long trip when you need to reach a fast charger soon, and GMaps knows where they all are before Hyundai does.

Hello Corbin, this is un-related, but I posted this question last week, and never heard back from you, but it is a good question that many don't consider enough , and your in a unique position to answer it now, because I would assume your doing most of your 2022 IONIQ 5 Level 2 charging outdoors at your (new apartment complex) This question is exclusively for the future EV owners who don't have the benefit of a indoor insulated garage and worry or at least wonder about the role the outdoor temperatures play in charging speeds. But suppose, you had level 2 charging at maximum AMPS for the apx 11KW charging speed, how much slower (if much at all) would your outdoor charging speeds be slowed down in current temperatures. Your current Boston, MA day time temperatures are like 35 to as high as 55 degrees during the day, and that happens to be what my overnight Level 2 charging speeds are going to be from say 11PM to 8 AM here in the Las Vegas, Nevada region. These overnight temperatures are actually very similar for a lot of the South-West (outdoors) (during the day actually when the sun is out and no wind chill factor) ? So if you could tell me how much influence your colder outdoor temps slow down your Level 2 charging speeds, I'de really appreciate it: Note: I know it's all guesswork to ask you this, in light of maximum AMPS at your apartment complex I think you said is around 7KW? but technically the Long-range Ioniq 5: Can charge from 10% to 80% in 7 hours and 10 minutes according to published specifications in theory, but how truthful are these claims? I've read on forums, like Reddit this could be achievable, but wanted your input as well: see this quote at: www.reddit.com/r/Ioniq5/comments/15tc37q/level_2_charging/ A lot depends on the amperage of the L2. When I charge at work, I get about 6kw. On my ChargePoint Home Flex on a 60 amp line, I get 11kw and the car can charge from 20% to full in about five hours. Not all are created equal.

@reiniernn9071Ай бұрын
12V failures you can have in any car...even ICE cars. If you drain during parking youre battery at a certain moment it simply stops. The 12V gets refilled in hyundai/kia until the main battery contains less than 20% energy. To get drained you need to park the car with a low state of charge in the main battery without charging and even than it will take time before the 12V is drained.
