Hey ik ben ook Nederlands en ik zou graag meer wille weten over autoontwerper worden, het lijkt me heel gaaf! Kan ik je misschien een mailtje sturen?

Beginning of the story reminds me of mine. Family memebers and all people around me consistantly telling me that art isnt an option, bachelor means nothing, I wouldnt be able to live as a car designer etc. The differene is on some point I started to belive them and abandoned the dream. For those who are reading this, please be like the Vitto, fight!

Thanks Vitto for sharing your story. I have also studied industrial design with automotive in Delft and got a job designing advanced vehicle concepts. Creativity is key and having an understanding of design methods helps. Wish you all the best at Hyundai!

He's such a nice guy, with some really cool projects too. It’s interesting how, in Europe generally, there seems to be a lack of awareness and support for creative professions. It’s also fascinating to see how, as designers, we often have one foot in the industrial world and one in the creative world. I really enjoyed this type of interview and would love to see more!

Very useful interview, thank you both! I'm in a similar situation, and I'm wondering if I should enter a master's in transportation design or if I can continue to learn on my own.... I'm afraid of a lack of creativity and contacts with only a mechanical engineering background.

it's the same story for both of us. I struggled to get the education I needed in car design, and my journey has been tough. I'm confident i will make it to the top . By the way, I really like your channel. it's helpful..

When it seems this much of a wandering path in Europe, it's near impossible for a South African, even thought South Africa builds for Toyota, Ford, BMW, Nissan, Mercedes, Volkswagen and others.

So it’s better if we apply in the most places and get the right design language that fits our creativity into!

So it’s impossible to become a car designer, without any masters but having skills and creativity?

The boy should better retrain to become a computer scientist. Computer scientists are desperately wanted because of digitalization and so on. As a computer scientist, you can work from home and drink coffee at the same time. There are over 150,000 open positions out there waiting for software developers and computer science contributes to social prosperity.
