I couldn't figure out how to get this out. Thanks friend. These units are exorbitantly expensive. I'm going to get mine out and see if I can repair the latch.

Thanks!, Check on eBay sometimes they are selling only the latch for less than the whole thing

​@@TricksTipsFix I drilled holes in the two front corners, then drove screws through the frame into the lid edge to close it forever. It's a cool compartment, I might replace it later.

The cheapest option would be your local scrapyard but if you want to save some time then check eBay
