i10 uses both high strenght steel (HSS) & advanced high strength steel (AHSS). AHSS is lighter and more rigid and high tensile strength. As from your test it is very visible that i10 is having different values as bonet portion is having 1.4 mm and side portion is having 1.2. Whereas you can purely see that in Exter the whole body is having equal measurement 1.0 mm....which is AHSS....

i dont personally thickness do have anything to do with it rigid strength, carbon sheets are much lighter and slim but better than normal steel sheets....similar way just with thickness we can derive on a conclusion..
