Yes, it is. Did a testdrive with the manual, and I made it up to 218km/h on a straight, plane part of the autobahn. Downhill I managed 235km/h. Not gonna lie, top speeds are pretty nice for this car with that engine, no matter if it's a manual or automatic, just that the manual is slightly faster of course

the same reason as why cars have 6th speed or 5th speed. I do not know what is so strange about it. BMW has 8th speed gearbox

Of course, because it's from VW, right? Damn, how I dislike people talking out of their ass. Don't look at the rpm meter. It's analog and it needs time to catch up to what's happening during gear shifts. Look at the speedometer. Do you see that needle even slowing down during acceleration? No. The gear shifts are close to instantaneous and power delivery is constant. Moreover, I actually own one. You don't feel it shifting whatsoever. The display is slower than what is actually happening *down there*.
