@AlanisKing5 күн бұрын
I'm really interested to drive the new Charger!
@Miatalustrium5 күн бұрын
It seems like there is a good bit of contrast between how reviews react to them both, and I think Dodge making the Charger an EV has dramatically damaged the reception from reviewers and fans alike on the Charger where there was really no expectation from Hyundai for the I5N, because it didn't have a legacy preceding it. I don't know if I've seen serious-enough reviews on the Charger EV to say if it's as fun as the I5N, but it seems like the biggest difference is truly marketing first, product second. Either way, I absolutely LOVE the I5N and would own one if I had access to a charger on the daily (and could also stomach the payment, haha)

I certainly don't think this is a bad car, and it isn't fair to hate on it simply because it's electric. Looks fun to drive and has great performance. That being said, I still don't like the idea of any electric car trying to mimic a gas car. I get the idea behind it and I think it's impressive, but I think I'd have a lot more fun with and appreciate it if it focused all of its effort on being a fantastic EV, instead of trying to be something it's not and has no reason to be. Certainly not hating on it, but there are tons of fantastic gas cars you could get for 70k 😂. I feel the same way about the new charger EV. Great review thought 👍👏

this car has really intrigued me. i liken its engine noises to vegans who eat meat replacements: people arent moving away from meat because they hate the flavour or experience, much like how people aren’t ditching combustion engines because they hate the sound. in this way, i think you can reach the best of both worlds, and the whole “extra feedback for drivers” thing certainly is an interesting concept that i would like to ask people who own them if it does help

As a person who is both a vegan and an Ioniq 5 N owner, thank you for making that comparison in a way that's not insulting to both! I keep seeing people make the comparison as a way of being dismissive. But yes, some of us stopped eating meat while we still love the taste, and in the case of the 5 N, it got me into EVs in a way that no other EV could. I traded in a Focus RS for it, for goodness' sake. But the 5 N lets me have my cake and eat it too -- it's the best of both worlds.

As a driver enthusiast and 5 N owner, I welcome the fresh look at the idea this car represents. 'Love letter to the gasoline car" - so true! This car has challenged me in several ways. No1 is weight, I was a weight snob basically and couldn't think I could truly enjoy a car above 3500lbs. So I don't agree with Alanis comments on weight, I think it hides it really well as long as you don't drive in the underdamped comfort setting. A test drive changed my mind and owning one sealed it, heavy cars can be fun! Second, I hate fake engine noises - my last three ICE cars had them and I really had to switch them off to not feel miserable. So I really was sceptical I would like it longer term. 6 months in, I still love it, but only with the gears. Without I hate it. And only on a good drive. On a traffic jam commute, it's the opposite, what a relevation to be able to drive such a fun car in total silence. So much less stress! Having the choice is golden... As for explaining to peoples who don't get the fake stuff, I don't have food analogies. Simplest is to just take them for a ride. For written comments as here, I liken it to music and dancing. The 5 N is not the live concerto of the best musicians of the world. You do not listen to it like you can listening to a NA high revving V12 with a great exhaust. The sounds it makes are a complement to driving, and driving is like dancing. Dancing without music is possible but it feels empty - that's how I felt about EVs before, some EVs steer objectvely good, but it's empty emotionally. The Ioniq 5 N is live dancing to very good music, emotional engagement check. And when the music is good, it actually doesn't matter much if it's a live band, or a good recording or if the music was created electronically. What matters is that it makes you want to dance. So the Ioniq 5 N isn't a live band, but the music is good. At times, given the right road, very good. You're completely absorbed and the last thing on your mind is if the music is 'real'. Something like that...
@AlanisKing2 күн бұрын
So glad to hear this. I do think it hides its weight really well! But there’s still a bottom-heaviness on the track (and canyon roads) imo. It could be MUCH worse and does a great job of feeling agile, but still has the tendency to make me feel queasy
@onehorsepower2 күн бұрын
@@AlanisKingfair enough. Don't have the same feeling, but I could tell it feels a bit different, perhaps unfamiliar? Because it is unlike any gas car. With learning the car I'm perfectly happy leaning on it all day, maybe give it some time?

Why does the speed indicator misspell braking as "break" not Brake? is that some non Hyundai system? Yikes, I wish people would learn how to spell
@AlanisKing3 күн бұрын
Not a Hyundai system! That's Draggy Lap
@SimonChampaКүн бұрын
Nope, too big and fat. It is already too wide for a UK parking space. I really want to like the 5N, but Hyundai fell into the lazy habit of the super sizing car trend. Shrink it by 10% and I'd be lining up to buy one.

Is it quick sure. Is it fun. Absolutely not. I respect what they shot for in theory but this is everything that is wrong with the modern car industry. Not to mention it has zero soul to it. It may appeal to normies but to a car enthusiast it completely lacks what makes owning a car fun, engaging, and theaputic.
@ninjadriver32712 күн бұрын
Repectfully diagree. You speak of "in Theory", but you obviously haven't driven one, so you're the theoretical one speaking in prejudice. The people that developed it are proven driver enthusiasts. And when you drive it, you can instantly tell - I say so from practical experience. Unless you are an incurable purist, then there is no arguing. I put good before pure, whatever that means other then old convention...

I recently drove this car and it is incredible. It really is one of the best EV’s on the market. kzbin.info/www/bejne/oYClan58attkepIsi=bMkKIVdOHfLiDTPL

Do you just own the one pair of boots?
@AlanisKing3 күн бұрын
No. This pair is comfortable, and it's also my travel pair. I don't want to risk messing up the sequins and rhinestones on my other boots in a suitcase

Hmm not sure the Honda Civic Type R is the same as BMW fugly ass M cars. What other Honda Type R is there?? lol
@AlanisKing5 күн бұрын
The Type R began as an NSX in 1992. It was then an Integra in 1995. There have been others, and the Civic Type R arrived for the first time in 1997
@ctk49495 күн бұрын
@AlanisKing Sure but not anymore. Still I wouldn't say it's the same as M or AMG, where they have multiple M/AMG vehicles. If anything Acura Type S is more accurate, they have 4 Type S vehicles. lol

There are 2 cases where if 1 small dent that probably was there from previous owner. Will cost $60,000 ( Canadian Dollars) or $44,000 US Dollars, to replace the Battery 🔋 Packs after 1st Service. Hyundai, and all other Electric Vehicle's. Replace the whole battery 🔋 Packs, and not portions of it like a Tesla service Technicians. With Hyundai Ionic they don't honor warranty if damaged occurs, and Insurance totals it. In YT there was UBER drivers who replaced the Tesla's within 2 year's. Just before 100,000 miles. They regret the 3rd year of ownership and still making payments on it, for 2 extra years. With possible replacement of $25,000 battery cost $8,900 & tech labour's is always 90% of the cost. 2 battery replacement means waste, damaging the Environment including Water Resources 💧. There were 4 Recycling ♻️ Centers in the United States. Note none are in California, due to Environmental Impact. Now only 1 is in operation. This year 2 burned down in March Phoenix Arizona, November Missouri, with 202p Illinois facilities burned twice. Hard to believe 1 Electric Vehicle is more Toxic to the Environment than all V8's ever made combined. Don't believe me look up : " Missouri Lithium Recycling Plant Explosion - Analysis " it shows dead Fish 🐟. Reasons : Reasons Fire crews dousing water in to fire's to maintain area cool as Lithium burned out. For 10 days the crews Sprayed the Granulated Minerals into Creeks, Rivers, and Lakes . Environmental assessment dead fish 🐟, and well and Faucet Tap Water was Polluted to where boiling won't purify the Water. I would say that cleaning air, has been to the best it will ever get. China is still the dirtiest air industrial country blowing across Pacific Ocean. Like Sahara sand blowing to Florida. I remember 1980's, in El Monte California you couldn't see the Mountains. Now they are very clear though, obscured by Dreaging Quarry in Irwindale, Duarte, area from 10 on 605 to 210 freeways. I live in the area and had a black Mustang. 10 minutes after washing, it was full of dust. . The EPA measures the Carbon in the Air and blame cars. They have to Add China and the 69 Volcanoes 🌋 all over the spewing Magma and Smoke Ash, Sulfur as well. They can't take away my much cleaner reliable V8, Mustang. It has 113,000 miles with no Leaks . V8's Forever! 🇺🇸👦👍🏎🏁🚩
