Hyundai Sonata 2.5 vs Civic RS Turbo | DRAG RACE

The all new (2022) Hyundai 2.5 Sonata will go up against the notorious (2020) Honda Civic's puny little 1.5 motor with a turbo - and we all know Hondas with turbos mean big trouble. But they do say there's no replacement for displacement, right? Time to see how much of that statement holds true in the modern era.

@@hasaniking1835 no actually the 2016 turbo is the fastest one. but since it is 5 years old and the compression and spark ratio are much lesser then the RS 2021 and RS 2023 it starts to loose However i am 100 percent sure that the new RS Doesn't produce 176 HP. The main factor is the fuel. the fuel of Pakistan is not very good and hence Honda remapped the ECU and made it friendly towards this fuel. Same Goes for the old RS. After the 2017 model of Turbo was discontinued bcz of engine knocking, Honda remapped the ECU and relaunched the car as RS Turbo in 2019 with a small facelift. if the new RS does produce claimed HP then it has to so something with the mass of the new civic. it is nearly 120 kg heavier then the old RS, and thus weight reduction gives the old RS and Turbo edge over the new one. In My opinion the HP of the new car should have been: 260 Hp and 340 NM Torque. that would have been better. but it is Honda after all and had they have listening to the general public, the new RS would not have been lacking features like, parking sensors, wireless charging, 360 camera, 6 airbags ans other missing features. However with all of it's missing features, it still think that the new 11th Gen Civic is one the prettiest models of Civic in history. The best one for me being the 1995 model and 2005 eagle eye version those cars were sexy af

obviously civic turbo rs was gonna win its has 174 hp and 177 hp peak power and 220 to 230 nm of maximum torque torque with 1282 kg kerb weight while the 2.5 sonata had 180 max hp with 232 nm of maximum torque with 1415 kg kerb weight it simply lost due to alot more weight on it.

New oriel seems slower but it defeated the 1.8 Oriel as well. The pickup is slow but on the higher end the turbo makes fine power. In fact higher end accelerations are almost identical for RS and Oriel (compared in a video dm us on instagram)
