You left out the most important part which is the ACTUAL removal and install of the bearing. 🤦🏿♂️

You go to a grocery store and buy a couple of pounds of dry ice. put the dry ice in the bearing and around the knuckle and wrap lots of newspaper or whatever you have. Wait about twenty minutes to 30 minutes. You should be able to knock it apart with a rubber or plastic mallet and brass or hardwood punches. Put new bearing in dry ice and the hub. After about 20 minutes, using leather gloves, the hub should slide into the bearing. Keep it in the dry ice and you will be able to slide the assembly into the knuckle.

So u dont need a hub puller?
@tomthomas93173 жыл бұрын
You obviously do your own work. You should get a 12-ton press from Harbor Freight for about $120 after the discount. I'm sure you'd get plenty of use out of it. If you did two wheels it's paid for itself. When you look at it that way $50 is pricey to pay someone to press out a bearing. Great video though!

Yeah I thought about that. Just gotta find room in the garage for a press. Thanks for watching! 😎

Can you get the axle nut off with a breaker bar?
@fixinit9 ай бұрын
Yes. After you take off the wheel, have someone step on the brakes as you break loose the axle nut.

Bearings get pressed in and out
@tommydifiore22653 жыл бұрын
That was impressive. Can you buy that part with the new bearing in it? If so what would it be called? If anyone knows. If not its cool.. Wheel hub?
@fixinit3 жыл бұрын
Yes. It’s called a knuckle hub bearing assembly and cost about $250 per side.

You should see the mess doing the rear brakes on the '13 Sonata. Damn engineers could've fixed the issue, but nooooo. There's a video on YT where I learned of this little flim flam.

I'm going to start making my own how to videos, and I will show real time, real world DIY jobs. All these videos online cut to the chase and it makes everything seem so simple so your like cool I could do that job then you get to the first frozen on stuck bolt and spend days and days and different ways trying to to remove it before its destroyed costing you more money and spend another long time drilling out the pieces. Because I guarantee, it's not this easy and yes I have all the proper tools and nothing will work meanwhile my studs are all stripped and cross threaded from removing and replacing the tires after attempt after attempt, it's just a joke I will take the damn car and pay to have it done my personal opinion.

why do cars in the US are very rusty?
@fixinit2 жыл бұрын
Cars in the north have to deal with road salt to melt snow and ice in the winter. That stuff contributes to the rust on cars.
