@@ksmith2101 exactly my point! It’s a flat, boring, ugly, swampy, craphole! I can’t believe I actually lived there and liked it at one point!

Wonderful drive. I didn't appreciate till now how massive that Alligator Alley truly is. But the approach to downtown just shows how incredible the city's *sustained* growth also is. Cranes growing like weeds and new tallest(s) either in the pipeline or already underway are welcome news items for not only Miami but other FL cities (::wink wink:: Tampa/St. Pete).

This is the same route we took when we headed towards downtown Miami back in december of 2017. There is a park that has those alligators as well. Great drive Mike!

Thank you for your awesome upload! I personally skip on this route and take the Tamiami trail instead because I don’t want to pay $3.25 to drive a straight flat road. 😂

Only been on that twice going from Chicago to Key West and back. Next time I go to that area I want to go on US 41 or the Tamiami Trail.

1)Nice video as always Mileage Mike 2)Alligator Alley stretch of I-75 seems like a drive that would give me road hypnosis. 3)View of the Miami Skyline off of I-95 is breathtaking. 4)Use to have relatives in Opa-Locka, FL. Unfortunately, all but one died of health problems. Last one alive however, he is in a diabetic coma unfortunately right now though. 😔 -Lifelong Cocoa, FL resident

Great vid (as always) Mike! Notice the “Wildlife Corridor” bridge at 14:30! Several bridges were build to protect the Florida Panther and other wildlife, so they can safely pass the Alley, along with the 12 foot fences, on the Big Cypress west side. Trail cams prove this out for many species. Many vehicles speed 80-90+ as there aren’t many Troopers, until the kink or when one is in Seminole Reservation. And, best Express lanes in the USA on I-75 in Broward to the Turnpike and 826/Palmetto!!

114:31 Heavy Thunderstorm 😮 typically what Florida is known for cuz they see the most out of every state due to its insane Humidity if I was in Florida I wouldn't drive through that myself because of how treacherous and risky that drive would be also I have a few friends that live in the Miami area

Last time I visited Naples after a trip up in Tampa (Busch Gardens and the water park), we went on old SR 84 from Tamiami Trail. Called Davis Road. It goes to Collier Parkway. Then you make a left and then a right to get on I-75 just minutes to the Alley.

The one thing on Alligator Alley is you can look at the Milage markers and figure how many more miles to drive. The Naples area is Mile 100 and the Broward side 25. The scenery is somewhat the same. Drove it last summer.

Allegator Alley is an incredibly isolated place...maybe two exits in the area at most. The large yellow sign at 6:56 is a must-read for this purpose.

I-75 really seems like an autobahn from the toll booth to near its terminus. Seemed you were driving fast and there still was a lot of people zipping around you. Just Miami in general really.

With as flat and straight alligator alley is (at least in Collier and Broward counties - until Weston) I'm surprised the speed limit isn't 75-80mph.
@w-josh7 ай бұрын
Well Florida likely isn’t gonna be getting 75 mph speed limits as the bill that passed for it has been here for 10 years now. And there is still a high amount of traffic even though this road is deserted. I do think (with digital speed limits), it could be 85 between Naples toll booth & US 27.
