Honestly dealing with escapee ants was stressful enough, I feel like lots of baby jumping spiders would be chaos 😅 but you make it look easy. Also I eeked when I saw Cherry’s enclosure.

So many babies! I don’t think I’d have the patience to deal with that many super tiny babies. It looks so tedious! Thanks for giving us an update on how your jumpers are doing.

for ur fruit fly cultures , take an old lid(or current, just harder) and make a flap( just two small cuts with razor ) on the lid from the lip to the air vent fabric on top. just pull the flap back when dumping them into enclosure, and snap it back closed when done. Way less stressful / easier then taking the whole lid off and hoping they all go where u need them two . ive seen a few videos of ppl using clear ketchup/mustard bottles (old style) and just give a quick squeeze into enclosure, no refrigeration needed

I put my babies in a butterfly habitat, filled with some silk reptile type vines. I feed them fruitflies. It works well. When it's time to rehouse them, they have webbed onto a leaf and it's pretty easy to move them then.

Also, along with a paint brush, I use one of those baby nasal aspirators, to gently blow a puff of air to help nudge them about.

I found yet another skinny P. audax baby on one of my house plants today! I already have two that I've caught around the house and don't need more, so I decided to catch it, take a few pictures, give it a mealworm and release it. Now it's plump and hanging out on the same plant. I hope it decides to stick around that plant!

Hi, your video popped up in my feed. I don't have any spiders but my sister in law just got a jumping spider. It's like KZbin heard me talking about jumping spiders. They are adorable and they have kinda gotten me out of my arachnophobia, lol. They are adorable. I am into birds, dogs, rabbits and fish. I used to have Hamsters. My next pet may be a jumping spider.
@catastrophechris73752 жыл бұрын
SAME! I have 2 bold jumping spiders and as soon as I put them in their bigger (non-travel) enclosures and fed them, they started laying egg sacs!! 3 hatched sacs later and the local exotics shop has been kind enough to take them (best chance of survival for the spoods). Not sure what I’m gonna do if they have any more…. 😅

Omg Kat! I met the CUTEST jumping spider in my tent just now! I had to release it because I can't care for it rn. It was pitch dark, with a yellow face shaped bit on the abdomen, and iridescent fangs! It was about the size of a dime! Super cute. I see why you love them so much!

Thankyou!! Both myself and my partner were total arachnophobic’s, her worse than me. Thankyou to your vids, showing how gentle jumping spiders are, I now have 3 and handle whenever possible. I see your babies and would so love one, if you ever decide to part, but sadly I am in the UK 😢. Jumping spiders really do break certain fears and they are sooo gorgeous, that even my girlfriend is now coming around to my female phiddipus Regius Bahamas, because she is gorgeous. Anyway, sorry to ramble, but your an inspiration. P.s love the tattoos aswell, as now want a jumping spider tattoo on the back of my hand. A massive fan in the UK!! James

They're all so cute, showed my daughter and she's like NOPE!! lol She has learned not to kill spiders, just call mum so I can relocate, I've been doing it all my life, especially as a kid, we lived in a farm village so we got huge house spiders, no one in my family likes them so I was always called to remove them, this was after I kicked off many times if anyone squished them!

My P.audax passed away a few months ago. She only molted once for me. I had her for a year and a half. I believe she was wild caught. I want a captive bred one eventually. I was thinking of going with a P.regius this time. I just don't want to deal with flightless fruit flies. I mean, I know how to stop the media from molding now. It's an issue where I live. I still have the supplies for the cultures. Some of my slings are tiny, but still bigger than a jumper baby. I look forward to the update videos on these guys.

I had a regal jumper who had 3 sacs. She just passed after her 3rd sac a few weeks ago. I still have 9 babies left from her 1st sac. I put them in a big deli cup 1st all together and hot glued some sticks from outside that I sterilized. after they they had like 2 molt I released them all except for the 10 I kept to raise. I thought I would loose more but I've only had 1 lose. Thats the only reason I kept 10 cuz most people say alot of them will die. Right now i keep them in small deli cups with some moss and sticks glued in.
