I originally played Sonic Adventure 2 on the ps3 and recently bought the steam version since I had to sell my ps3. I immediately could tell the speed issue and looked up the issue online and found mods to fix the pc issues but it looks like a blast to play the game at this speed!

All you need to do is lock it to 60 fps because it's tied to the frame rate in this game. No mods are necessary.

it's your refresh rate, the game expect your refresh rate to be set to 60 Hz so if you setting are set to 120 Hz the game will run at twice the speed. There is a mod that can fix it.

Yeah mine was at 240 so I guess 4x speed. I have since fixed it, but I appreciate it a lot haha. Still a weird bug

I almost played Sonic 06 when I was a kid with no info about it but the game wouldn’t play so I guessed I missed out

I won't sit around and pretend it was perfect, but man did it have potential. If you have the opportunity to play Project 06, I highly recommend it (it's free)

I forgot to change my monitor's refresh rate too and it cracked me up. My monitor is 200Hz and the game was almost unplayable.

what worked for me was just changing my monitor to 60hz and that fixed the super speed

I did something similar that worked and manually limited the games frames to 60 in nvidia control panel but same concept

You should lock your framerate with your gpu software or with mods for the sadx mod loader for sa1 and sa2

sonic adventure 2 will match your fps with your monitors refresh rate making it go faster to fix it you need to install a mod that caps the fps to 60

If you ever want to have a real blast, play on a 240Hz+ monitor and turn v sync off. If you do, I challenge you to complete any stage without dying once.

It was a 240 hz monitor, but I'm not positive if v-sync was off or not. The mach speed deathless run will be legendary

the fact that you played sonic 06 when u were a child and thought it was good was shocking but understandable, when i was like 6-7 my dad showed me 2 sonic games (sonic mania and sonic forces) that i cloud get. i got both because ofc me want vidio games, and about sonic forces? yea. lil old me like so much of a mediocre video game so bad that i played it 2 times to end. (lil old me really didint look on the stages and the story) and if i would play it rn i would not take too much notice also.

See I totally get that, I can't say 06 was a masterpiece but it had so much potential. The gameplay was buggy, the story was questionable, but the level design, the mach speeds zones, and playing as Sonic, Shadow, and Silver was conceptually sooo cool
