Great idea! The comments to place the object at the elbow and use a towel instead of a disc are helpful, too. I’m trying this out today. Thanks very much for the excellent putting videos and now this one on driving. I’m learning a lot from your work!

That's good! In videos of myself driving, even when I do keep my off hand against leg, elbow flares out. With a contact disc, I'll be able to know I'm keeping whole arm against body

Oh I like this! I remember seeing connection balls a while ago and thinking there should be some way to apply the concept to dg but never thought more about it. I’ve also been trying to figure out how to consistently keep my off arm in close, which works when I think about but not when I don’t. I spent about 20 minutes working on this tonight and it works without thinking about it and discs were coming out clean 👏👏 Your body just does what it needs to keep the disc there. I also tried it centered on my elbow instead of tucked up into my armpit and that keeps the entire arm in if anyone struggles with their hand swinging out. This is instantly a stock practice drill for me now. Thanks so much!

I'm totally going to try keeping the disc closer to the elbow when i practice this later on, thank you for the idea! yes you can see that my hand was still leaking out even though most of the arm remained pinched. Great addition to the idea Thank You!

Maybey even pinch with the forearm to the abdomen...this has so many possibilities!
@micdavey8 ай бұрын
@@CentralOSurvival yeah, pretty much what I’ve been doing but the side of my abs along my left hip. I’ve been doing this just as a drill in a field or net and it’s helping out on course. I guess I’ve done this on a putter course too and that was fun. It’s like the hand-in-pocket drill but better because you actually have to keep your arm tight against your body to keep the disc there.

I love how you are taking sports science and crossing it over to disc golf. Keep it up!

I do notice a lot of the pros keep their off arms close to their bodies through their drives. Interesting, definitely worth trying!

Can fold up your disc towel to be more comfortable and keeping with the theme of using stuff you would carry in your bag.

Might as well call me the captain, because my off arm sailboats daily. I am going to give this a try.

yes pros do walk more backwards then sideways which allows for a straight pull through.. the only thing your missing is now as you coil backwards on the walk up reach outward from you which will create that whip effect vs only pulling .. someone you can see this happening clearly with is Cupcake a pro dg..
@puttconfidently9 ай бұрын
Thank You! Yes I will be working on my backhand a good bit this year. Coiling and reach back/pull through are on the top of the list to work on.

Have you tried with a non straight shot with that technique as well? Does it make the same type of difference when trying to turn the disc in either direction? Def going to try it next time i go out

Yes I actually tried some bigger hyzer shots with it today and it was just as easy to execute. I didn't really try any big anhyzers. Please let me know how it goes for you!

How funny, I started doing this a couple weeks ago because it’s an old golf drill. It works so well and for me it helps prevent cranking over on the disc too much.
@puttconfidently9 ай бұрын
Oh Wow i didn't know that, I assume they are using it on their back arm as well?

Sooo... I sent this video to three of my bros yesterday after I watched it.. me and one of them went and played 9 did this and we were both throwing 30 to 50 ft farther in a couple cases...went to tag league last night at the local course and threw 30 ft farther consistently than usual..this works and is a better platform to work from than other " hacks" I've tried..
