You need a way to crunch down the 1280x1024 arcade1up resolution down to 640x480. Also, that hdmi to vga converter may not be working, depending on the output capabilities of the device. The silver bullet to do this would be a retrotink5x, which can take 1080p hdmi input down to 240p analog output, but there may be more affordable options. Depends on how you want to do it. Glad to hear you're getting some success!

Nice!! There’s definitely a learning curve getting CRTEmudriver to work…..but definitely worth it. Looking forward to seeing the finished product and which front end you choose to go with.

Right on man way to go! Glad you finally got it figured out! And I'll bet reading on here you can get the A1up Killer Instinct running on that CRT. Don't give up. This is going to be helpful when I get my OG RoadBlasters arcade cabinet finished and set up. As I'm going to run a PC with a multi-switcher so I can play the other driving/shooting arcade games.

What resolution does the a1up KI output? Is the arcade monitor a standard crt? Meaning 480i max. If so, that’s more than likely why you’re not getting an image.
@R3LAPS3productions8 ай бұрын
I guess this video answers a few questions i had just bouncing around in my head. And I guess it proves I'm not crazy after all. So my question was would it be possible to put a Arcade1Up pcb into the real arcade and play on the crt monitor. I always thought it would be kinda cool to play the mortal kombat online multiplayer games on actual arcade machine. I guess this video kinda proves that it is possible but in order to do so it's just going to take alot of converters and a few other boards. Maybe 1 day ill buy the actual MK cabinet and give it a try although I don't really have the space for that size of a cabinet where i live. Cant wait to see the next video.

I am glad you figured out the solution. Crt is what I prefer too. I use a sony trinitron. I look forward to seeing the finished product!

Also would like to see you compare KI on groovymame vs the pcb.

When you are trying to diagnose a problem it's best not to keep swapping things out. You should have used that LCD with the VGA output see if the adapter board from the Arcade 1UP. I'm not sure why you are using an Arcade 1UP board in a Killer Instinct cabinet..

Question *since I'm away for too long* is that a RGB CRT monitor? That kind of CRT only accepts 15kHz signal. Any different frequency it won't work. Also, it will get maximum 480p coming from a computer. I'm just guessing, since I'm not aware of your new project. If it's going to be a MAME project, set a pc using ATI computer and CRT Emudriver 2.0 for sure. Frontend wise, I'm editing CoinOps to work properly to a 4:3 monitor. If it happens to serve for your project, just let me know.
@rgbcrafts8 ай бұрын
As a last resource, I'd add you try RGBUNTU or Batocera 15kHz system. Both are prebuild and works at 15khz by default. GroovyArcade would be a third option, since it is a OS plus GroovyMAME on a single image.
@rgbcrafts8 ай бұрын
Anyway, YT seems to ignore what I'm typing somehow. GroovyMAME is the way to go, if it would not work, GroovyArcade would be the best option to make it work since the beginning, without installing CRT EmulDrive 2.0 and any other protocol. About the frontend, as I was saying before, I'm editing it for my MVS restoration cabinet and now updating for a promising multigames, with more games and all working properly on 4:3 (CoinOps only has assets for 16:9). If you can confirm the final titles list you're about to have in this machine, I can edit the assets and send you a build for testing it.

@@rgbcrafts I just googled GroovyArcade, and this is amazing. Honestly, I never bothered about going down the route of using a CRT, with the kinds of headaches that CRT Emudriver and GroovyMame can cause. This is amazing, thank you for the suggestion!

I initially thought this was going to be an Arcade1up to arcade monitor setup. I’m wondering if you need a multisync arcade monitor for this to work successfully?
@KillerArcadeGames8 ай бұрын
The monitor I have is a tri sync. I think the biggest road block for the 1Up hardware is the Geekworm LVDS to HDMI board. I was told I need the 2.0 version for KI. I’d still probably need a signal converter board too. I’d be more willing to go deeper into it if it wasn’t a royal pain already haha.
@KidApoc8 ай бұрын
@@KillerArcadeGames that’s a bummer. This would be a dream to do. I hope someone could come up with something,to alleviate this issue.
@MightySquirrel3 ай бұрын
Do you mind documenting the steps you took to get it running? There seems to be a lot of conflicting info out there, among different sites.
@KillerArcadeGames3 ай бұрын
I'll probably be doing a similar set up again for a friends cabinet. I'll try and remember to record that one. The biggest issue I ran into was the CRT Emu Driver failing to install. My PC would blue screen of death every time. It turns out Windows 10 was installing a GPU driver before I could install the CRT Emu driver. So I had to go in and uninstall the device (GPU) and then install the Emu driver and it worked.
@MightySquirrel3 ай бұрын
Next time, try DDU to do the uninstall. It does a super clean uninstall for any brand of graphics card.
@MightySquirrel3 ай бұрын
Download the drivers, run DDU, keep the computer offline, then install the drivers. See if that helps.

I have an arcade just like that: emudrivers, and for me, is the best option. Now you'll should try Atrack mode, and Fightcade instead of 1up online.
