I believe its a standard protocol for people who come often and they have your record in their computers. So they will wonder if you are doing some business etc and that would negate a visit visa. It happens in all countries with excess visitors.

the primary screening officer felt that you are not a bonafide traveller and referred you to his superior. Its up to the superior to let you in on the basis that you are a bonafide traveller and not doing shady business. - im an immigration officer lol

I was interviewd more than 15 minutes at Heathrow. That was during the aftermath of 911. In the end, the officer apologised. Stating, it is it was to protect the his country. I said I understoood the situation. Thnaked and congratulated him. An officer is busy to go through someone's socmed platform. One should be thankful to the host for letting us in. We would not know their situation and problems. By the way, that time coincided with the case where 4 Chinese were denied entry to U.K. seems like, this type of ppl have issues with many countries and their immigration.

Actually quite normal for the immigration officer to query if you mentioned you want to stay for 90 days.

Wonderful to know both the flights went smoothly but alas, the country entry was not as easy as always. Thanks god that after going thru' that questioning process, the immigration officer finally allowed to let you in and gave you a 90 day stamp 🙏🙏👍

Yup, Malaysia is making it hard to most visitors to come to stay in Malayia especially for 'slightly longer' visits! I was in Malaysia last month for 3 weeks and when I left, the custom officer questioned me why I stayed in Malaysia for SO LONG! I was like WTF, 3 weeks is LONG??? Malaysia is charging you for accommodation tax of RM$10/day which is not exactly high but with that kind of attitude like why you stayed so long in Malaysia for only 3 weeks is JUST total madness! The Malaysian tourism ministry complained that there are not enough visitors as compared to other ASEAN countries, and yet they do all this stupid stuff. Wondered if they want you stay in Malaysia or stay out of Malaysia! Think Malaysia should put this up in their immigration website front page 'Please do not come to Malaysia as Malaysia does not welcome you. If you stay as long as 3 weeks which is too long, you will need to be questioned as to why you stayed for so long'! Make sure all airlines that fly to Malaysia and all hotels in Malaysia let all visitors know this before they book their flights and hotels! Malaysia is not even an extremely popular country as compare to their neighbors. They had a seriously mess up immigration policy.

Every year my boss attends annual meeting at the USA headquarters and many times he was detained for two to three hours in a room for no reasons. According to him this happened to a lot of business trips travellers as this is the way each country immigration works. If you don’t like it don’t go.
