To be honest, talking about historic buildings in Malaysia, Kuching City have the most of that building compare to Malacca and George Town but underated in Malaysia because of not much publicity and promotion.

My thoughts exactly. And I thought Kuching was much more enjoyable than Malacca or George Town. Thanks for watching, Harry!

My hometown. Even now that I have lived in Europe for more than 20 years, I will always be a Kuching girl. I return to visit frequently, everytime thinking, damn, this place is awesome. The weather, the food, the nature, the people. Hoping to return one day

Kuching is definitely underrated. Not a party city but does have a number of concerts! I dare say Kuching is a city that knows when to rests. 2:15 No. Kuching is not “discovered” by Brunei sultanate. They tried to rule Sarawak but the people rebelled. After helping Brunei official to fight against it, Brooke was given the land to govern. Brooke DID NOT represented British. He ruled as a private citizen of British. British only ruled Sarawak AFTER the WW2 and roughly for 17 years before Sarawak formed Malaysia together with Sabah, the fed. of Malaya and Singapore (left the federation in 1965). 5:09 Sarawak has 8, the peninsula Malaysia has 10.

Even though it's not a party city, I thought it was nice that there are some nice bars to go to. Thanks for watching and contributing information about the history of Kuching! :-)

@@GringoNation, foreigners usually equate the Brooke with the British empire. The biggest mistake people who come to Sarawak made because of its uniqueness. I don’t think there is a white Rajah ruling other “countries” in the world that lasted for three generations as the Brooke. So, many people probably couldn’t relate… The fact is… Sarawakians had been fighting against and pushing back Brunei rule even before Brooke came into the picture. Sarawakians don’t hate Brooke. He was the founder of modern Sarawak.

@@GringoNation… happy that you’re able to find some bars. Kuching is pretty family-centric, imho. Unfortunately, some people expect Kuching to be like Bangkok instead of cherishing our uniqueness and identity (which is definitely different than Bangkok or Bali).
