I'm in both eco systems, each does some things better than the other but overall both are exceptional but sadly they don't work well with each other. Industry standards would be most beneficial to all endusers, just like making a voice phone call is agnostic to phone, platform, os etc if video calling, file sharing , texting etc were equally platform agnostic (without loss of functionality) the world would be a much better place for all end users.

I go through this cycle at least once a month. Something I am trying to do would be easier to accomplish on a Mac, but then there is the spiralling cost of the Apple ecosystem. If you're trying to spec the Mac Mini based on what you would normally need on a Windows machine, you'd be shocked how much less RAM you need for better performance on MacOS, and I believe you can still use external SSD's for storage, which may make things easier in the long run. Even a mac mini with an an older M2 or M3 is a processing power house.

Daniel, so honest as always, that's why I love your video's and how informative they are. I have skirted between Samsung and Apple for years, since 2013 to be honest, mainly samsung but have got drawn in to Apple products at ties for my own work and connection to family in the USA. I've been back with Samsung now for nearly 3 years and the interaction for Google and 365 works for me, the description you used for nearly "Leaping Over The Fence" was perfect and understandable. I too have toiled with getting the Mac 4 Mini for a month now but holding off. Might need a new PC- Monitor this year but if I do I may get the Macbook Pro, I can get a great deal through my son that's the reason why I am holding off. I don't think I'd go full hog to the Apple eco system like I have in the past. Love the samsung/ android compatibility and ease of use, works for me and most companies in the UK mainly use. I'd not be betraying samsung but the Mac 4 mini is definitely a catcher and the Macbook air/pro too for portability, great video and keep them coming.

I'd always been an Apple hater, but at some point, I started using an iPad (liked it). Then, for work needs, I switched to a Mac, and to complete the ecosystem, I got an iPhone, Watch, and Buds. After a year with the full Apple ecosystem, I ditched it and bought a Samsung Fold 6. iPhones are extremely boring. That said, it was a super comfortable year. I never had any major problems like I usually did with Android and Windows. IMO, if you want everything to just work, stick to Apple. But if you're into innovation, leave Apple like I did (though I’m keeping the Mac because, honestly, it's the best system for working as a developer, and the battery life is unreal).

Have a samsung galaxy book but its basic specs but i use google drive and dropbox to share files. Etween the two. Its doable but not without some annoyances. The question of switching brands and ecosystems is a matter of timing and convenience. This is always changing. The problem with Android is that Google is very incomplete and Windows is bad at a lot of things (art). That's why Samsung and other brands add their signatures. It's a way to compensate for the problems of Android and Windows. For me, the best ecosystem is a Macbook and a Z Fold, but that will change over time. My next phone will be the S26 (the smaller one), because by then I will have finished everything I needed to do with the Z Fold.

You can't expect from an ultrabook with an i9 and a GTX4070 to have quiet fans and run heavy video editing software. Buy a workstation type of laptop if you want to use a laptop for such stuff or a gaming one, that has proper cooling. Avoid those with hidden vents, especially those that blow the air into the screen (hinge). Also, I would recommend to downgrade the processor to an i7, cause from my experience i9s misbehave, keeping higher frequencies when not needed. I had a Thinkpad P53 with an i9 and RTX4000 - unless I put it in power-saving mode it would not switch to frequencies below 4GHz, which caused the fans to run at high speeds and the CPU over 80 degrees Celsius. Fortunately, the performance was there even at power-save mode, so I kept the laptop like that, but I'm pretty sure there is some issue between MS Windows and Intel processors' power management, including the sleep states.

Great video still as its modern & reflects on many considerations. For others I would suggest looking at how your tech gear is compatible 1st. Apple HomeKit has fewer supported tech devices than Samsung SmartThings, a little different in understanding automation setup. LED lights for example. Software: ensure the software you use is not just available yet you get familiar how it works on Mac vswindows vs mobile! OneDrive as the worst UX with no synergies between all 3!! Behavior of which picture folders are sync'd on A droud has changed significany on Galaxy sinc Feb 2024 w OneUI 6 on my S23! Downloads n subfolders never was included before then yet after it happened automatically without any prompt!! No FYI from Google nor samsung on this either!! Hardware accessory & mostly which software to use them will matter most!!

I know people like to talk about Apple's ecosystem hooks and lock in's, but every big tech company wants that reality it's one of the best end goals, including Samsung (Google too, but that's currently being broken up in court right now lol) which, as you are experiencing now, is the world's biggest pain in the butt. I've recently switched my phone back to android after 5 years of being an apple user (was time for an upgrade and a change) but the anxiety of switching is intense, it rattles your brain thinking about "Oh but will this device work, oh I'll be locked out of this feature, what's the alternative" its just stressful. Lucky for me, I don't need to air drop as much anymore because my buddy and I haven't uploaded in like a year so that workflow is not common for me anymore. I am fairly happy with my switch, and surprisingly to the average user it has not impacted me that much, I still use my Apple Watch for fitness (It's still setup on Wi-Fi to my account, so all tracking is kept), I still use my AirPods. For the curious people I picked up a Moto Edge 50, I know odd choice, but it's very nice, and I wanted to check out the current mid-range market.

Old M2 stock of MacBook Pro 16 inch is pretty cheap, when the M3 came out I snagged a new M1 MAX maxed out for $2500 cheaper than its retail price from an office works unout deal. I was going to jump ship myself a while ago having ran a hackintosh for a while and being an iPhone user. I found I liked macOS for what it was but, really it was just because whatever I did on the phone would pop up on the computer as well. There were less options for doing some of the tinkering that I do fixing stuff as the software I used wasn't compatible with mac and that left me unable to fix somethings without having to boot back in to windows. I just sold my 15PM and now waiting for the S25U. It almost felt as if there was a weight lifted off my shoulders. Looking forward to getting away from the apple tax as its called, luckily I never invested into the ecosystem so the switch for me is relatively easy. I even looked at the mac mini as well, but, like you it cost way too much to up the specs for what you got in return... In the end, after 7 years of iPhone's, iOS being more bloated and geared for kids or a younger generation, (for my use case and IMO) all of that stuff is only a gimmick to me and I've never used any of it so its a waste and caused bloat. The new photos app sucks, cellular reception is crap and transfer speeds either on Wi-Fi or cellular were worse that of other comparable devices. With the S25U not being square anymore and having curved screen edges, now is the time for me to switch back. Hopefully I will be content and stick around, the cost of these devices is crazy and should NEVER COST so MUCH. Thanks for another great video and honest opinion

You really do have to make some tough choices before you upgrade nowadays. Great video, Thanks.

Id only switch for the aaa games cause the devs taking way too long to bring them to android flagships ,since they are more than capable devices I see no problem, just do what grid legends and only allow the absolute latest flagship phones like the sd8g2 and sd8g3 and now the SD 8 elite

The Mac mini is more than worth it and it is built to last you bro! Apple works very well together and it doesn’t have half the issues of Samsung at times. I am a Samsung fanatic but my tab s 9 ultra and fold 6 couldn’t handle zoom calls without flipping the screen or low quality video. I bought a MacBook and eventually the iPhone 16 pro. Handles all my workflow with ease, but with all that said Samsung is still awesome
@techwithbenefits13 күн бұрын
I would never switch to an iPhone (if I did it would only be an experiment, never full time). My phones have always been amazing. Never a big complaint with those. And my book 4 ultra is great. The main problem really is Intel chips aren't matching what Apple silicon can do in every department

Don't be a fan of a brand - be a fan of a product IMO. I like MacBooks, but I'm not a fan of iPhone or Watch. I do admire the airpods as almost the only decent open ear solution. I don't want to say you're wrong for buying the Samsung laptops, but IMO Samsung laptops were always a hot mess. Bad cooling, bad quality etc etc.. You might want to consider ASUS (even with the recent backlash for their bad customer service) or DELL (yea, it's boring corpo stuff, but their DELL support portal along with drivers and service tag system is amazing), Lenovo with their gaming or corporative series. Never heard anything good about MSI/Samsung/LG from the real users, only tech reviewers that were "using it for extensively for a week" and probably on a payroll praise the "specs".

Like someone in the comments said,its adobe,but I also think its intel,why not give the samsung laptops with snapdragon a try? Aside from my comment,lots of people cry one plus ,hauwei,xiaomi,saying the chinese are overtaking samsung, but one thing,which is a apple thing,is samsungs cohesiveness and its back up,samsung is an inch away from overtaking apple,they just need to make videos slightly better on samsung, and pay more attention to their laptops,perhaps speaking with qualcomm to overclock their system in the samsung laptops,and to roll out all their products, everywhere. South africa still had a lot of limitations on samsung products, like the samsung laptop and ring. I have a samsung here in south africa for all the reasons stated in the video,but also samsung pricing is better than iphone in south africa, and samsung touch the budget phone market in ways apple can't. I hope samsung takes notes,absolute domination is not far,take it!
@techwithbenefits8 күн бұрын
Love this comment. Reason I can't try snapdragon just yet is the support for the Adobe suite just isn't there yet enough for me to use it properly. As soon as it does I am going all in.

A Windows desktop would have been a better option when the Galaxy Book wasn't enough. Why did your thought process jump to Mac Mini? You don't need a Samsung device to keep your Samsung ecosystem alive with Windows.
@deepin2u13 күн бұрын
Theree is alternative and you can use OneDrive to retrieve your sync. The phyaical drives isnt a concern hot dock via TB5 USB-C ports. Making tbe excuse "its Apple" is a personal one not a technical or logical one. When you want to match the same performance and consistency of reliability over length of time,youllbepayingmore either in $$$$ or time in Windows. Im a certified tech and I work on both platforms for over 17yrs Windows 11 has brought Windows os reliability by leaps and bounds ans i love the wsl component but running multiple software woth hardware connections hot swapping still has issues and caveats over 30, 40, 70 days over and over before youll face memory data corruption or kernel panicks or IRQ issues woth hardware components conflicts. This is just talking bout official Windows OS builds not custo. Junk you find on the net.
@techwithbenefits13 күн бұрын
Yeah the "its apple" excuse is definitely personal. I find it hard to make that leap from a mental standpoint (as well as financially). If my needs change or advance, I will have to reconsider, but as of now, it's still working so no need to invest more into something that still works you know?

I just don't have the space at home for a full desktop PC tower. Otherwise it could be an option
@mefjupl867912 күн бұрын
@@techwithbenefits dunno man, I struggle between thinking your choices are more content driven, especially toward polarization Android vs Mac and this content sells pretty well on YT. And between you making a point about rendering efficiency vs cooling, where Apple has an edge on mobile, but I wouldnt say Mac Mini is a mobile device cuz it needs a monitor etc. So in this case, PC mid tower that is very well cooled is closer to Mac Mini than a laptop. And closer in dimensions than you think^. Ofc that is much more expensive endeavour but mby there is a way to borrow or lease a PC and make a video about comparing it to mac mini and Samsung devices when it comes to rendering capabilities. But that would have to be a powerful PC like, mid-tower, liquid cooled Ryzen 9 9900x or 9950x with an e-gpu like RTX 4070/ti.
