He makes a good point. You shouldn’t have to “suffer in silence”. But be wise in who you speak to, find groups, meetups, etc.

Thank you for filming this important video Becky. It really stood out to me, the difference between 'I think I might be a narcissist, but I don't want to be' vs someone who doesn't want to change. The label that's out there makes it feel like it's a 'unchangeable diagnosis.' Videos like this really help to change that narrative. Thank you for the work you're doing.

@@manthesecond Possibly the most dominant and pervasive symptom of narcissism is that they believe there is nothing wrong with them. Once they have the realization that they have a personality disorder, they cease to be a narcissist and enter the realm of recovery--and that's a world of painful self-work. The worst offender in my opinion is HG Tudor. Total charlatan and huckster. He is obviously a voice actor cashing on the pathologizing of narcissism--the cottage industry created to enrich Dr. Ramani and her carnival side show where all victims, even narcissists get to hang their hat and blame the other person.

Great video and thanks but...can I make an observation? Lee does seem highly intelligent, cognitively - if you multiply this by the 'performative element' of high-functioning narcissists it's a bit like a high-functioning criminal faking 'remorse' in front of the parole board. I may be wrong but can you understand me being suspicious of his sincerity/auntenticity?

Yes. They always have an ulterior motive, could be money? But Ido not know him and would like to think most people can change. He is helping a lot of people though so it is good for him to share

I am in the adhd , Autistic, bpd spectrum. I became narcissistic when I realised that a lot of people are too interested in themselves. Because I was a massive people pleaser. I was let down and used by people. I was very emotional and attention seeking. But no one took me seriously. I had a breakdown and had a catastrophic depression. But now I don't care less about other people. I don't need to gain validation from people. I had been badly treated by people. That I would rather be on my own. Than gain validation from people.

I share the same sentiment, most likely the spectrum too. I can't say that with absolute certainty though, as i lack the financial strength to be able to afford a diagnosis. Insurance only cares about your wallet.. well their wallet more accurately. It's an ongoing process lets say. As such i still have so many questions, but little answers. It is what it is, for now.

Wonder how many guys come yo her saying they arw narcissists but actually live with a female narcissist. Tell your buddy how your girl mistreats you and you'll hear "thats how women are" and then when you flip after months of abuse everyone in town hears about how you broke a door or punched a wall.

Thank you "The stigma is well-deserved" I am concerned about the naivety of our mental health experts and I challenge the movement to remove stigma and develop empathy for narcissists for the reasons he clearly stated. It's concerning when the narcissist patient has to educate the "expert". By smearing the narc with love and empathy, we encourage sublimation rather than authentic change. By removing empathy, we force the narc to develop and internalize their own self-love, and thus strike the core of their issue.

Why is this video so cut up? Was looking forward to watching this, got halfway through but the editing every 10 seconds is too distracting.

Lee edits his videos in the same manner. He has routinely admitted that he "rambles" goes on and on, and he does. He is a good educator but yes, he does ramble. Editing helps him to the point and cleans things up. IMO The editing has helped the quality of his content and made it more enjoyable for myself; Absolutely cuts back on repetition. I'm AuDHD and I appreciate that quite a bit.

Appreciating beauty is subjective, and it's important to respect how each individual chooses to present themselves. As a psychologist, I focus on the substance of the dialogue rather than appearances, aiming to provide insights into complex behaviors. Let's continue the conversation and stay focused on the topic at hand.

@@Bobboberson1234 In response to the comment linking makeup to narcissism, you might reply: Makeup is a form of self-expression and can be a creative outlet for many people. It's important not to conflate personal grooming choices with psychological concepts. Each person has their own style and reasons for wearing makeup, and it's not indicative of their psychological state. Let's focus on Lee’s points over my face.
