Dylan so here in the UK you can visits many locations and see Cabins that have been built, the only problem is they are all the same design and mass produced by machines. What I’m loving watching you do is the fact that your Cabin is going to be one of a kind so Unique, and Owen will one day in the future stand and proudly say, “My Dad built that from the ground up”. I’m totally amazed at your skills and work ethic, you are keeping the art of Carpentry alive. Love to you, Molly and Owen ❤️💙💙🥰🥰🥰xxx

As a father of two boys who are a substantial amount of time per day, do things your way Dylan. I was glad that you shared the knowledge because I did not even know it. What is important is, YOU know it, and you can teach your kiddos correctly when the time comes. Have a Merry Christmas!!! And a safe New Year! Make sure to enjoy all the time with Owen, it goes by impossibly fast.

For “tapping” those joints together, need to get youa beetle hammer (mallet). You mentioned about that people would tell you what you should do on milling those 6’x6’s, its amazing how cabins built over a hundred years ago are still around, and yet they built them as they went along. Its looking good.

Free time? Free time? A new daddy isn't supposed to have any free time! Ok, we understood the sarcasm. Nice work with the drawknife and chisel. Obviously not your first rodeo. I am envious of the talent and skill. I have two left hands with all thumbs. If the beam doesn't fit, your mallet is too small... 🙂

Why???? Why would you cut a log up that?!?!? I mean, I know you are getting a lot more posts out of one log...... and ok, its for a tiny house and those beams are larger then you need so the extra strength isn't actually needed...... and I suppose that it's your build so you can do what you want and not what us "professional" armchair people say.... and I've never actually milled my own wood before...... or built anything bigger then a dog house...... ok, I didn't even know what "squaring it in" was until I saw this video.... and we don't even live live in the same country as you so I don't know what your building regs even say....... ok..... yeah...... what was my rant even about? I really don't want to scroll to the top of the text, so..... Merry Christmas guys!!!!! I hope you have a great first Christmas with little Owen. 🎄😊🎄 (P.S. sorry to all the people who probably know exactly how to mill a log, I hope you all have a great Christmas too)
