"I Am the Bread of Life" is a Christian hymn composed by Sr. Suzanne Toolan in 1966, based on the Bread of Life Discourse in John 6, and John 11.
Sr. Toolan claims to have discarded the original copy before being inspired by a student to keep it. She originally presented the hymn in its final form at a diocesan music educators' conference in 1966 and the popularity of the hymn coincided with the use of vernacular languages following the Second Vatican Council.
Recorded live by the Sunday 7pm Choir & Friends at St. Francis De Sales Church, Ajax Ontario Canada. Our hope is that the music we make brings people closer to the Lord.

I have been listening to this on repeat for a few hours today. On the morning that I found out that I needed to go home as my father had fallen and was not doing well, I woke up with this song playing in my head over and over. I had not heard it, or been to church in decades. My father died one week after I got home. I was touched by the Holy Spirit on the day before he died, as I sat with him in the hospital, watching Mass with Father Joseph Mary on EWTN. Now I go to Mass everyday, and have begun a beautiful relationship with Our Lord. My heart bursts when I hear this song, for my dad, but also with love for Him. ❤

So beautiful this song. I am having major spinal operation in mid September 2024. I have never been so worried and scary in all my life and I am a retired Lawenforcement traffice now old 72. I pray I am i catholic we have an alter at home I can’t get about because for lower back as it is fracked L 4/5 S1. Also Cervical 5/6/7 . Top and bottom it is the bottom I am have done first I hope to God hears my prayer for a good recovery ❤
