Pokemon did great because we knew what to expect and they were easy to understand. But at least now they seem to understand that Digimon Story is their turn-based RPG and Digmon World is their virtual pet RPG.

I don't think that's going to happen. Nintendo seems very happy SIMPING for Pokemon by putting only them in Smash while ignoring any other mon franchise, even the ones that are exclusives for Nintendo consoles. There is going to be 10+ more playable pokemon in Smash before a single playable Digimon or a playable rep for any other mon franchise. Even if Smash Ultimate was made by Bandai Namco, Nintendo is the one who makes the list of possible picks for Sakurai to choose from. And I've to clarify that I don't want to destroy your dreams, maybe I'm not a fan of Digimon but I don't have nothing against it.

Man, I can't wait to see you play Zero Divide. And trust me, as long as you're playing fair, you'll never see the true final boss, Xtal. To go against him, your save file has to register as having beaten the game with every character (including the unlockable penultimate boss: Xulu) without using ANY continues at all. And to play as Xulu, you have to beat the game on a single save file with every character. Then there's the even more hidden than Xtal boss, NECO. Which requires you to unlock Xtal as a playable character, beat the entire game with him, again, without using continues, then use a controller code to unlock NECO as a contender. And finally, there's the hidden unlockable entirely different game within the game called "Tiny Phalanx" (a SHMUP) that can only be unlocked with and played on a 2nd controller.

Edit 2: disclaimer the definitive edition is only on switch and steam, you can get the games separate on ps4 and vita HOWEVER the definite version of the first game has all the digimon that were introduced in the sequel, the vanilla version of the game does not, so be aware of that.

@@Artemisarrowzz I think the Arcade mode diffculty increses the more characters you beat it with. Just make sure that you don't do late runs with Wormmon if that's the case (learned that the hard way when BlackWargreymon squashed me like, well, a bug).

When a Digimon dies it is possible for them to come back spawning as an egg, or a digitama. When they hatch they start off in baby form which they have no defences or attacks, then they evolve to the in training stage and then rookie which usually their default stage. From there they can Digivolve to Champion form, Ultimate/Super Evolution and Mega form though those are only temporary forms for the main protagonists Digimon but offer a higher boost in power. For the none main Digimon their forms are usually fixed.

Temporary digivolutions are largely limited to the protagonists. Vast majority of Digimon do not revert to earlier stages.

Guilmon was banned in the pro scene because of his stupid health and fireball. He also has a infinite out of his fireball. jump fireball > the windmill punch > over and over until opponent is stunned > Digievolution > Setplay

@demon prince K I A V A L A the entire soundtrack was changed in the English version. Digimon Tamers Battle Evolution uses a bunch of remixes from the various anime OST while the English version of Rumble Arena had its own new soundtrack created for it. It might have been a copyright issue.

Ehh, I loved the game as a kid but it really doesn't have much going for it outside of nostalgia and its IP. Like, I don't think there's any fighting game that you can honestly say is underrated when _multiple_ characters have jab strings that are minus on hit _during_ the combo.
