I am transgender I TDOR speech 2022

I was asked to give a speech at a Transgender Day of Remembrance ceremony this year. As a transgender person of color, I am so grateful to have been given the opportunity to speak at such an important event. Rest in peace to the 327 angels we lost this year.

I completely understand that fear. Although this poem wasn’t scary for me because I had been out for years at this point BUT that fear is very real. I hope you’re able to continue finding community that supports you through this time in your life. I’m here for you.
