IDEAS: you could even do a "local biz" or "restuarant" of the month and have that one business owner pay the largest amount to have just 1 whole side of the 9x12 postcard! Also include menu so folks will keep it. I think this works best with local places that might even have their own in-house delivery like Chinese restaurants. (not so much Uber Eats or Door Dash delivery advertising though, since they pay a good 30% and right now I been noticing a lot of local businesses advertising their own food saying "fast pick up" or "pre-orders ready for pickup" and wanting to also inform customers that Uber and Doordash take 30% profits away from the restaurant to get folks to pick up their order to support local businesses) Also, you could also give some extra postcards to your local apartment communities monthly to put in their "move-in" packets. this is something businesses have been doing for years also b/c I been in property management working at apartment communities stuffing these fliers into each Move-In Packet.

I worked for the post office as a rural carrier. They are strict on EDDM. It has to be delivered to every box on the route and even though it is not classified as first class mail it is treated as such as far as having to be delivered. If you are being evaluated on your route and you failed to place that mail in the box you will be reprimanded and sometimes fined.

Lol We paid a local printer about $375 to make 3000 copies on a nice thick paper. We gave them to a local bar to use as placemats. Okay so you say there are 16 businesses per card . So that is 8 on each side from what I can see. So are they tear aways or do the customers bring the whole card in to whoever they get the discount from? If so that seems a little inconvenient.
@ebiii5686Ай бұрын
Approximately how many businesses do you usually have to ask to get the 16? 50+?
@HighResponseMarketingАй бұрын
well me is different becuase I've had a lot of experience selling so I have a higher closing rate than most others, so the best advice would be that 1 in 5 will buy almost guaranteed. (of course this might take you 20+ business owners to even the probability out, but you should be able to sell 1 in 5 just by literally showing them it. Once you get used to selling you'll be able to bump that up to 2-3 out of 5 or more. a HUGE influence on this is picking the right business owners, because someone who's never advertised can be a lot harder to sell than someone who's already doing a lot of advertising and spends money routinely on it.

I was an insurance salesman for years, years ago so closing is also in my blood😂. This is unique because fortunately this is the case where finally we have that product where literally it will "sell itself". The only obstacle I forsee is being able to show potential clients a physical "example" piece so they can visually see and appreciate the artwork of the tangible assett as opposed to a blank template or description. Because I could definately sell that finished product at a much higher rate if I can show them the finished product. How do i do this with zero businesses on board to illustrate my own 9x12 example? Print cost will be about the same depending on who does it, make sure you do the math. 200x16spaces = $3200 -2.5k for expenses approx. $700 in profit for you. I think they can afford more that the 199 price point you mentioned, hope this helps! God Bless!

Firstly, thank you so much for creating this video. My question deals with frequency (and I apologize if you have mentioned it) How often can you publish/send out these cards? Is there a recommended number of times to have these cards direct mailed to homes? It sounds like I can send them out as frequently as I want to (like every week, 2 weeks, every 2 months, etc) and I have the ability to change up the businesses that are advertised. For example, if I wanted to have cards sent out every 2 weeks (I don't know if this is good or not) - one week could have a business A and after 2 weeks, business B could be on there (considering exclusivity). Am I understanding this correctly? 😅

What printer do you recommend for someone just getting into this business? Based on the larger sizes you mentioned someone else uses a typical printer that prints 8.5x11 wouldn't work.
@HighResponseMarketingАй бұрын
hey! so believe it or not, you're looking a minimum investment of a good $50k at the very bottom. More like $70k or so. You need a digital press, a cutter, dedicated computer, special software, service plan, etc. and most of the time you'll want to lease them new so that they have a service contract for when they break down (which they all do often), so you have a leasing monthly cost, service plan cost, and per click cost. Plus you have to buy the paper which is very large sheets which you print and then trim all the pieces you printed on it (hence the need for the cutter). It really makes sense to outsource it unless you know you're doing a good amount of volume. Oh and you'll also need to hire someone to run the press and do prepress work etc. !

Can you explain the discreprencie in you saying there can be $5,000-$10k profit in this deal and the apparant cost in creating and sending these 10k mailers out? Am I getting something wrong here?
@HighResponseMarketingАй бұрын
I know it sounds confusing when you hear so many numbers, I get it! YOUR cost will only be 22.3 cents in postage (as of 2024/early 2025) and then approximately 22 cents in postage. So about 45 or so cents per piece all-in.
@liamliam5341Ай бұрын
I had a similar question. I was thinking that it was about .5 for shipping, and about .5 per to create each postcard, which still does not leave us with a profit, but I am going to watch it again, and try to do some research on it. If I find out something I will let you know.

@@HighResponseMarketing I just plugged in my zip code with EDDM full service of print and mail from your website, and it came to about $0.635 per postcard (sell sheet) for the 9 x 12 with full color both sides. does that mean if I hand deliver the postcards to the post office i will save almost $0.20 per postcard?

What happens if you don’t get enough businesses to fill all the spaces by the date I said I will mail them out?

Hello..... I'm a little confused on where a profit could be made? For example, if the average cost per card is $1 and you mail out 10,000 cards the total is $10K for that run. Now if the average 9x12 postcard holds 16 ad spaces costing around $600 per space. The ad revenue would be $9600. The only way to make a profit would be to charge $1,000+ per space. Maybe I'm missing something? I guess it would make more sense to do maybe 5000 postcards at $600 per ad space? -Would love some clarity. Thx.

Thank you for the question. I'll be waiting on a response as well.
@FeenohhАй бұрын
that is not the average cost..youre probably looking at around 25 cents per card printed....and maybe around 1500 for the post office to ship...so your probably looking at .40-.45 for each card shipped...if you sold your spaces and grossed 9600..your profit would be closer to 5k...there are some variables...but this is about what you can expect...

You say 5,000 to 10,000 mailers. I would assume that you would get a higher advertising rate the further the reach at 10K. Wouldn't these figures be different and what would be the adjustment between 5 and 10k mailboxes?
@HighResponseMarketingАй бұрын
5k is sometimes easier for people to sell who aren't comfortable asking $500+ per space. It's a lower price to ask for ($350 or so)

only solo postcards, for 9x12's you can use overseas designers or other people who are efficient in designing them (for us it's just too much a workload to take on)., or you can also consider using my canva templates

Images of the mailers finished and stacked up at the printer is a good start. You can also provide a receipt from USPS that you can show as proof of mailing.
