Thank you so much for what you do Lylah! Whenever I feel sad about my hair loss, I watch your videos and your positive attitude and beautiful smile makes me feel better. Its very rare that I see brown women suffering hair loss because most of them have really thick hair. Your videos make me feel less alone. Thank you again.

Hey Anisha, aw girl thanks for the love! So happy I'm able to help you feel better. It's crazy how many BROWN women have told me they have hair loss since I've started my channel. I think as women we just become really good at styling/hiding our thinning, and the pressure of looking good means we don't tell other women about our hair loss. TRUST ME, it's so common!

I just discovered you today and I know your channel is geared towards women, but as a guy dealing with the same thing I find you to be inspirational. My hair is a huge part of my look and what makes me feel attractive, and a lot of the videos made by men just didn't have the same impact on me. I'm kind of a feminine guy in some ways too and after watching some of your content for the first time I felt positive an uplifted about the subject. I just wanted to say thank you. :)

Aw thank you Matthew! I focus on female hair loss, because well, I'm female lol, but I do have a decent male following, and many have said similar things! Hair loss sucks EITHER way! I think for women its slightly more traumatizing because of its association with our gender. But for men it can be a SERIOUS blow to ones confidence/identity as well, especially if it starts at a young age. Sooooo happy to hear my videos have helped :)

Hey missed your videos! What are you putting on your hair now ? I'd like an update on your current regimen and if you are covering up spots in this video because your hair looks great ! I do have androgenetic alopecia and it's very depressing. The biggest area of loss has been my temples which makes me self conscious to wear my hair back. ☹. I am on viviscal and did feel it helped but now has stalled a bit. we will see. Why did you discontinue it if you liked it? Thanks so much for your reply !

Hey Lylah, my hair has been thinning for nearly a year now and I’m 23 (started thinning at 22). I’m a Male too and I thought for a while I had Male pattern baldness and would have to take propecia, get a transplant or except going bald. I still have long thick hair (even though it’s thinning and not noticeable via the way I style it) and is a big part of my personality as I’m a rocker who plays guitar and stuff so it’s really been freaking me out. Been to another trichologist today (yes, I’ve been to 2 but first one didn’t help me quite enough) and it turns out it’s all definitely telogen effluvium and sheborric dermatitis because I’ve not been healthy, had an iron deficiency and potentially the fact I was on antibiotics at the beginning of the year which has irritated the scalp. One of the reasons I thought it was MPB was because the hairline on my right temple has receded a bit but trichologist says there’s no signs of miniaturisation and is more than likely all TE and SD. So yeah I know what you’re going through and have been watching your videos for a while and they’re inspirational, particularly the one where you filmed your trichology consultation. My appointment today was almost exactly the same, I’ve been told to alter my regimen again, eat more protein, wash hair more often and use a medicated shampoo, take Florisene more regularly again and I might have to use gofybrs as some parts of my hair are starting to get a bit see through but not much luckily. Weirdly though my hair hasn’t been shedding all that much (at least not much more than normal as people who’ve trimmed my hair say I’m losing a normal amount in the comb and just looks like a lot with my hair being long and curly). Though the hairs that shed do have a white bulb on them. So yeah, this whole TE thing is a very strange and disturbing thing, not many doctors seem to know much about it as a lot of people told me I have Male pattern hair loss which is strange bcos nobody in my family started balding in their early 20’s. But yeah last question, have you lost any hair on your hairline from this TE (has it gone up). And if so where?

Have you tried doing a hair tissue mineral analysis test? I want to try one just to see what my body is deficient of and if I need to do a heavy metal detox which could ultimately cause hair issues and digestive issues. I think our gut health is super important to how the rest of our body works.

After coming off the patch (I was only on it for a month) last year I suddenly started loosing my hair. It’s a year later and my hairline has receded so much. Doctors have zero answers other than “it’s genetic”. I know it’s not. I’m only 23 so it’s devastating. It’s comforting to know someone else knows the struggle though. Love your videos, please continue making them. ❤️

I had the same issue smh. If hair loss is sudden & rapid over a few months, it’s TE. If it’s gradual over years, it’s AGA. You can have both - most of us have a little bit of AGA as we age. If you get a scalp magnifier, miniaturised regrowth indicates AGA.

Hi, You said minoxidil is a toxic fake fix and it’s better to find the actual cause instead of putting a band aide over this issue (which I agree with), however, what if it’s due to female androgenic alopecia? That’s a permanent condition with no cure other than those toxic band aides. Please help.
@Kaesia

AGA has a very distinct thinning pattern, are you 100% sure thats it? If theres any chance that stress, diet, vitamin deficiency, lifestyle changes, using healthy hair products like revivogen or aveda, or an autoimmune issue could be related to your hair loss? If theres any chance then its possible you can help your hair through other means. I dont want to discourage the use of a product that could work, but dont want people to just stop there, when theres so many other products and underlying causes for hair loss.

If there is no cure for hair loss what's the point of spending all that money at a clinic. Unfortunately I see it as a money making industry and gives false hope. Most hair loss is internal and nothing you do external will fix that. The lucky ones who's hair loss is due to external factors has somewhat of a chance.
@Kaesia
@Kaesia 5 жыл бұрын
I'd have to disagree entirely. Just because something has no cure/or is genetic, doesn't mean it can't be MANAGED or TREATED. My scalp has improved 100%, no more redness or irritation. And thinning has definitely decreased. For me, that alone makes it worth it. Now in terms of NEW growth, I'm not yet on the hair line/supplements for that, so I can't give an honest comment. But any treatment is entirely up to the individual.

@sweatpea68 i agree, honestly you get to a point where you get upset and frustrated with the fact that there is no cure. I’m confused, can you explain more, everyday hair is shed but your saying every 3 months it’s normal to see more?
@Kaesia
@Kaesia 5 жыл бұрын
Correct. Hair falls every day (some people see 20 strands, some see 100, and what's normal for one person may be abnormal but another). So, counting the strands doesn't help. Monitoring if there's increased shedding on a cyclical pattern may very well be the normal shedding phase of hair, what you need to look at is if your part is widening/bald spots, because that suggests you're not regrowing enough hair compared to the shed, and that's where you know there's an issue.
