If nobody's mentioned it, when women lose weight, their hormone levels can get quite unstable. We store estrogen in body fat and as we shed fat the estrogen is released into the blood stream. The younger you are the more volatile it can be. It's like an intense PMS effect and can wreak havoc on your mood. Just knowing that helped me navigate it more effectively. You are doing so well and manage to touch so many lives. The stomach pain should be explored if it continues. Love you girl. I'm an old lady and the pandemic has thrown us all for a curve. You keep going...keep posting. Some days I watch you at 5 am and my day starts with laughter and good feels. You got this.

Sometimes yoga and meditation can bring up a lot of emotional yuckiness. There's a lot of introspection involved and if you're already having emotional issues this can exacerbate it. Pick just one and see how you feel. Don't beat yourself up for one misstep, or even several, you're doing amazing and providing inspiration to others. You are very charismatic. YES. When I finally got to a safe place to start healing, I tried getting back into yoga again. It was crazy. I got weirdly angry and wanted to punch something or sprint. @@RicocheaClove yes, when I tried meditation at a low point in my life, it left me feeling panicky. It set off a fight or flight feeling that I couldn't shake. After several attempts I had to conclude that meditation is not for me, at least not in the sit cross legged and focus on your breath way. I find gentle hatha yoga to be a happy medium. It doesn't bring up competitive and comparing thoughts like ashtanga power type yoga but it's also not slow like yin, where I have to sit with my repetitive thoughts for too long. Like anything else you have to find what works for you.

Life is tough and we aren’t designed be happy all the time... A soul is the energy that creates ripples which ultimately lead to change and for a ripple to exist there are ups and downs... you making ripples and you are not only physically and mentally changing but you are moving others to make their own change. Those kind of ripples are known as waves and you are important to all those other ripples of change that you are creating. B, (imposter armchair psychologist here) your bouts of sadness sound like you are grieving the loss of your comforts. I say this as someone who has had to make radical diet and lifestyle changes too. Its not so obvious in the moment, but it will zap you of your enthusiasm for change. It's HARD to make big change. Maybe you need a maintenance week for the mind? Indulge and comfort in the non destructive choices that you also love. For me this was rediscovering my love for tea, face-planting into fresh warm laundry, and deliberate laziness days where the floor is lava after I've stolen all the blankets in the house and snuggled underneath them in my bed. Lolol. You get the idea, I hope! Find new freedoms. Best of luck!

Can see your weight loss in your face, well done! I was dying of laughter with the screaming kids in the background, they sounded possessed 🤣truly provided the full "experience" to your bean meal 😜 No doubt you're inundated with advice of "could be this,have you tried this" but your swings of ups & downs during the day sound similar to thyroid function as in under or overactive thyroid. Mine was overactive, I would literally be hyped up I could not stop moving then be very sombre & no motivation to move. I've had my thyroid removed, been on Levothyroxine for over 18 months & if that doctor hadn't spotted it on a blood test I would still be told it's down to being bipolar & endometriosis affecting my hormones . Worth getting checked if you haven't already 💜
@dreamingfool24 жыл бұрын
Yes! Especially since her healthy lifestyle change might have something to do with her sudden onslaught of mental health hiccups. Overeating, processed food, and a sedentary lifestyle can cause a lot of thyroid and hormone issues, which in turn can affect our mental health, which we then mask with more unhealthy eating habits and lifestyle choices. Now that she's choosing a healthier lifestyle those masks are being removed and can no longer be ignored. Please, get your thyroid and hormones tested along with therapy.

It's not a bad idea to get your TSH levels checked. Even diagnosed and on the meds I still feel like that a lot of the time too. Did you find that things like the running/fitness marshall type stuff you were doing a while ago helped your mood? Usually when I force myself to get up and do things like that, it really makes a difference. Hashis or not. Anyway, I also just want to add that you are a special, special person and everyone here adores you and just wants you to win at life, however that looks for you. Maybe you should start a positive affirmations challenge? Just write nice things about yourself and stick them on the mirror and say them to yourself. I always wanted to try that. Some people swear it's a gamechanger. Otherwise can we do Zombies Run (the couch to 5k one) because I'd love to hear what you think about it.

People will always understand if you have to quit a challenge and you're honest about it. I mean you might get a couple of people that give aggressive advice, but people are understanding on my channel. I only notice people getting hate over quitting things if they're vowing to never eat or do something again, getting angry with their viewers or just not being honest with themselves.. if you're just like "let's try a challenge!" then like "sorry I feel like total shit and can't do it", people will get it lol

It's ok Bea, we all fall off and have struggles to deal with. I know many people think yoga is easy or not really an exercise but what I've learned is that it's actually kinda difficult in the sense that it forces you to be present with yourself (feelings&emotions). There were several times I would cry in class because certain postures release different kinds of emotions we store up aka don't deal with. I hope you give the yoga challenge another try and really commit to it. I did either the 60 or 90 min. hot yoga (Bikram) for about 7 years before I moved back to my hometown, now I just practice it at home in my yoga shack. People can say what they want about Bikram and although I'm not a fan of the man, I have experienced many good benefits from his yoga series and it's the main one I practice. Your meals look delicious and so happy you are trying new things. You can make it through this challenge, we're all here for you!! 🤗✌💪😊 #Bminus100 #BEAutiful #BeaStrong #BeaFit #BeaHealthy #BeaKindToYourself #BeaHappy #BeAqueen #BeaFocused

My mom is South Korean, and I’ve been eating all sorts of kimchi since I was a kid. It’s definitely an acquired taste! One thing I know that my mom does for people that aren’t used to eating kimchi is to sometimes run it under a bit of water to wash off the spice, ginger, garlic, onions, etc. It then almost is more like a pickle of sorts and maybe is more palatable. Kimchi fried rice is also a good option. My fiancé loves trying kimchi in place of pickles too (topping hotdogs and hamburgers). One note though - as the kimchi continues to ferment, it’s going to get stronger in flavor and more sour. That’s personally my favorite but I definitely know not everyone’s cup of tea. (PS: Growing up we always had a fridge for the staples and then we had a separate kimchi fridge 😂)
@veronicabean494 жыл бұрын
Great suggestions! I also much prefer older kimchi (lived in Korea for a few years, and figured out what I liked). A side note on cooked kimchi (or other fermented foods). While super delicious, it may not have as much probiotic benefits, because cooking can kill off the bacteria. I'm not 100% sure of this, but I've definitely read that somewhere, so it's something to look into if you're eating kimchi for its probiotic benefits. Also, I absolutely love cooked kimchi; it will have a bit of a different flavor and is super delicious.
@LindaC6164 жыл бұрын
Yes, my grandparents used to make coleslaw and sauerkraut by cranking out the cabbage in a machine themselves. We should have had a separate freezer for the sauerkraut. Sadly, we did not. One of the worst things I could ever hear from my mother when I was a teenager was "honey, go downstairs and get X from the freezer".
@ChiakiHatori4 жыл бұрын
@@LindaC616 I tasted Kimchi one and honestly I'd rather compare it to sauerkraut (in spicy) than to pickles. Was a bit too spicy for my European tongue but it wasn't bad...but the smell, oh god.
@crystalm16194 жыл бұрын
@@veronicabean49 - Very cool that you lived in Korea! And, I loved older kimchi too. I tell my fiance it's like wine - gets better with age! As far as your note - that's definitely a good rec if someone is eating kimchi for the probiotic benefits. I will literally eat kimchi out of the jar sometimes (just because I love/crave it) so I tend not to think about that stuff, but I know it can be rough if you're new to the flavor or it's too strong. Your note made me remember that sometimes just eating it with rice or mixed in with grain bowls can help temper the strong flavor. My mom used to make bibimbap A LOT for meals and would throw in kimchi. Pinterest has lots of examples of recipes, and they can seem like you have to prep a lot for it - but I will make my fixings and throw in all sorts of stuff and it's like a really delicious and healthy. It's a good meal prep thing too!
@crystalm16194 жыл бұрын
@@LindaC616 - Fermented foods definitely rank up there in smells! I currently only have one fridge, but I often keep my kimchi jars wrapped in a couple old shopping bags to keep the smell from permeating everything else. I used to think the extra fridge in our house took up too much space, but I find myself planning to have one when I buy a house, haha.

If I could like this more than once, I would! Also going on a major health journey (gut health, woopwoop), and I just thought I'd say something in case you read this. It's taken me 3+ months of taking a probiotic and focusing on gut health, and I am just starting to experience BIG BIG improvements in my anxiety and mood stability. I know it sounds like a long time, but it's been the most massive game changer for me!
@DavidMartinez-oh8yn4 жыл бұрын
which probiotic do you take? what steps did you start with for gut health
@gracebridgman19144 жыл бұрын
@@DavidMartinez-oh8yn it's called Solgar acidophilus 40+. So my health journey has been a bit more complex than just the gut health part. I'm currently eating wheat-free and dairy-free, and also following quite a Low FODMAP diet (foods designed to help with gut health and regularity!). But the biggest step forward was realising that it would be a long journey (taking 3-6 months) to seeing improvement. Sorry it's not such a simple answer, but yeah. This has really helped me. I'm feeling happier and healthier than I ever have.

Beatrice Caruso hey awesome content! So sorry to hear about your mental health struggles that's really awful. Improving gut health is a great idea. I'd recommend prebiotics over probiotics because probiotics are often not effective, it depends on your own particular microbiome and everyone's is different. Also to improve gut health I highly recommend reading fiber fueled. It's life changing. And the diet he recommends for gut health is extremely effective for weight loss!

Oh B, if I could just hug your heart right now, I would. Because this message did so much good for my heart. Send any soldier into battle with full armor and they will feel prepared, but first take away their granades, then their gun, then their helmet and then their bullet proof vest. Ask them how prepared they feel now. You have mentioned the weight you put on was your "protection" of sorts. Even though it is a GOOD thing to take healthier steps - it can feel petrifiying to also change the way you have defended yourself for so long. The weight was your castle wall, but it was also your guilded cage. You are doing better than you think you are. I have prayed for your rest, that it would be restful and deep. I have prayed for your mind, that it would be guarded from attacks, but open to hear from God and what HE says about you. ❤ I have prayed for your body and mind, that you can continue to be healed from the inside out. God Bless you, dear lady. ❤ ❤

Love love love the honesty. Also, please remember that it's not a failure. Setbacks occur and old behaviors will always come creeping up. It's life. As I get older I realize more and more to be so much kinder to myself as well as more forgiving of myself - which allows me to keep trying again w/o regret or fear of judgement (from even myself). Also, remember that sometimes you stop doing certain things - because you don't like them or they're not helping you. I journaled every single day through the first 100 days of this pandemic - and have journaled maybe three or four times since then. It was something I needed deeply then and need less now. I may need it again next week - who knows? Love your channel and love that you give us so many wonderful new channels and things to try out. The number of times I’ve come out of a yoga class and broke down in tears is a lot! That is not to say it is bad though! I don’t know how you say it in English but one meditation breathing exercise in particular has helped : square breathing! A great tip I learned in depression and anxiety therapy when setting goals was to start small with maximum 3 goals a day for at least a month and then add one goal every 4 weeks after you implemented the other ones and made them a habit. The reasoning behind it is that the feeling of success is so important, when you set too high goals from the start and when you have to track back you experience disappointment. It is easier to add goals later and over time, then to have to admit that you can't keep up with the initial plan. It's a mental trick. On another note a great vegan and filling recipe I can recommend recommend is quinoa salad. Quinoa, lots of parsley, dill, tomato,cucumber and some hummus (the full beans)...salt, olive oil, lemon juice for 'dressing'. Quinoa can be cooled with rinsing with water after cooking or chilled in the fridge. I love the nutty taste 😍 It has so many vitamins, minerals and healthy carbs in it and is really filling. Edit: What I wanted to add...what I noticed in a lot of people losing weight and the theory I came up with is...a lot of us with extra weight balanced feelings with food. The unprocessed feelings get stored in the body, just like some toxins are stored in fat tissue. When the fat melts, the trauma, feelings get freed as well and resurface. A lot of times the fat layer is a protection between your sensitive inside and the outside world, we have to cope with being more vulnerable. No more protection suit. That adds to the overall raw emotions. Take your time addressing this stored emotions ❤
