The way I've been doing Nuzlockes is breeding a whole bunch of mons, trying them to a brand new game (or using bank/Home), and using exclusively traded Pokémon. This is fun due to early on in the game the mon simple won't listen to you adding a layer of luck to the game.

I agree. It's rarely listed in the rules people set up, that losing all six pokemon means losing the run. So when I first learned about nuzlockes, I often wondered why the didn't keep going, when they had a box full of pokemon. Sure, if you prepared your A-team with the best counters, you might not be able to do it with the ones left behind... But the again, you could be surprised, so I think that it's refreshing to have someone keep going until all Pokémon are gone...
