Once you have 15 or 16 diplo points they always vote for you to lose points. So vote for yourself to lose points and you only lose 1 since you technically won the vote 😂

So, it's actually pretty easy to manipulate the WC, if you're close to winning, the AI will vote you down, you can just vote yourself down and then win the other two categories (the AI will likely spend their Diplo favour on downvoting you). This means that you can still actually come out ahead with 1 Diplo point if you win the other two.

Accidentally did something vaguely like this a month ago. Was on tws (huge) and the only person on the Americas. Won a culture victory with Brazil about 30 turns after discovering the African coast, mostly from the Amazon Jungle being transformed into a preserve/national park Mecca. So much culture i was nearly at national parks before Caravels started finding me, and the tourists from them won the game in about 20 turns.

@boesthius You can set up your game to avoid gettign the cutscenes and pop ups whn discovering something. Just set up your game in the "online" mode. You can play alone. Just don't forget to make your game private and voila, a faster game

It's weird that your boarders expand into the volcano tiles that are basically useless to own, before the water tiles that while also are basically useless, but at least they have value points. You'd think the Ai would prioritize those.

Volcano/Mountains are better than Coast/Ocean Tiles though~ They have higher Appeal (National Parks can be on 4th and 5th cycle) and owning them, reveals the tiles behind them.
