Well this and that are different because in that one defense doesn't matter. In this one defense isn't allowed at all, meaning nothing that gives other stats or has other uses is allowed if it gives defense, so no pre-hm dash thanks to SoC giving 2 defense, no stat boosts from armor because there are only like 2 pieces of armor that don't give defense iirc (amethyst robe and wooden greaves), and no kb resist (which sorbet points out multiple times in the vid)

Bubble Gun is surprisingly powerful if you get it early. It's mana usage rate is so ludicrously low, even with taking firerate into account, that you don't really have a problem of running out of mana to use the thing. The only major drawback is range, for it is not great at all. It more than makes up for it by bubbles persisting for some while, and good damage.

Basically, if you've got 20mph movement speed, and you get hit by something that would send a standing player 10mph in the other direction, getting hit once would slow you by 10mph, a second time would stop you completely if you haven't built up any more speed again. Tbh a slow would be less complicated though.
