What about the worm scarf percentage damage reduction? How does it work with defense? and is it good?

Honestly, the best recommendation you can give something is "the devs literally don't let you have as much of this thing, that's how OP it is." Like, come on, if the devs won't let you have it, it's obviously worth more when it's something as simple as offense vs defense.

Yea as someone who just picked the game up this year, after about an hour of trying to make some sense of the wiki I did the equivalent of "f**k it we'll do it live!" On the bright side I have it burned into my brain not to use Beenade versus wall of flesh. I just need to get to that point of facing said wall now lol.

Actually I use every accessories reforge specifically on what class im using 1. Mele : defense or mele speed depends on what challenge or what come in my mind 2. Ranger : Luck, menacing, sometimes defense if im playing riskier difficulties like hardcore in special seeds 3. Magic : arcane (ik people rarely use this), menacing, and lucky I don't really use defense because well for me magic is about *cranking up fire power and dodging the bullet* definitely not steal that line ze~ 4. Summoner : menacing (the usual), defense for farming and building purpose, and melee speed if im focusing on my whip crispy sound 🤌

I like it, but I have to admit that I think it's kinda made me a worse player than I was before it existed. I used to be so much cleaner with my grappling hooks, and now, I almost forget they're there and then trip over myself when I need to use them.

Yeah...the one time I tried to play it, I continually kept losing most of my items to lava (yeah, you keep the really important stuff, but early game you'll lose literally all your ore and that means you just lost everything you worked for on that underground delve) before reaching the underworld, dying in a lava pool with no bottom, and thus permanently lost all my best items. At that point, I was just fucking done. It's a very, very tedious way to play the game and, as he pointed out in the video, not even a playstyle that it was remotely balanced around. And this is from someone who never gets rid of old items and gear even in softcore, just because (as he pointed out) any time you've outgrown a tool or weapon you're pretty much not going to get enough money from it to be worth selling it, and chests are cheap. So I _had_ backups, I was managing just fine getting back to my stuff...mostly. There were a few times when I died on the retrieval trip, something I'm kind of surprised he didn't mention, since if that happens you're pretty much in a death spiral and have to get _desperate_ to get your items back. I'm pretty sure I even just fucking gave up on some early inventories when I was settling in because of how punishing it can be to start losing not just money every time you die, but also all the items that you're going to need to bootstrap yourself back to where you were when your items prove impractical to get back. Also, uh..."you still have most of your progression after losing all your items?" Bullshit. You can turn a freshly created character into an endgame character by looting the (player-prepared) contents of a single chest, even if you avoid putting any player upgrades like life crystals in the chest. The one thing you might have trouble dealing with in such a scenario, if you were dropped into a post-plantera world, is your low health pool...but that's pretty damn easy to manage if you have a fucking zenith. Not to mention that with endgame items hunting down the permanent buffs you need is much easier, even with post-plantera enemies. I get that you like mediumcore, but you can't just claim that having enough health to tank 16 hits instead of just 3 or 4 from the enemies you're going to run into on the way back to your items means that you still have most of your progression and thus won't have any trouble, especially not when large swathes of the video are dedicated to how you need to cleverly cope with not having the items for your current progression level and needing to face up to whatever difficult enemies just killed you anyway. Finally, on the subject of time limits...there is rarely anything I want to do more after a crushing defeat (like losing all my gold, say, or maybe _all my fucking items)_ than close the game, take a breather, and come back to it fresh. It's bad enough in softcore expert mode or master mode, where if you want that bold back you don't have a choice, you're getting it back now and you can't quit until after. For that to be _all your best items?_ It's a special kind of hell, _particularly_ if you were already near the end of your planned play session and were thus expecting to be able to just turn the game off to go have a life.

Day 1 (real life) of Mediumcore I had copper armor and got shot by a dart trap, I saw it do 95 of 100 health and I immediately recalled + eat mushroom. I ran to the campfire and sat in a chair next to the party girl (was also in a chair) and we both looked at the fire with my character's face looking real sad. I never felt so happy to just be sitting and doing nothing and to see a familiar face.

Honestly, the reforge system mostly feels like the individual reforges aren't supposed to drastically impact the weapon's performance, so you aren't completely screwed if you craft one that's broken or something and don't have the money to fix it. But, as a result, the good reforges also just kinda can't be worth it or else you'd be screwed just for not having one.

Modifiers should really have been something that makes the player THINK what's better and what they would rather to play with, that would make things interesting and fun, and they would like to test things out. Instead, what we currently have is players only looking for that ONE modifier that is significantly and obviously better than the others. I don't blame them, it's the modifiers to blame.
