"I Beat My Cancer" Music Video | Holtz Children's Hospital

Jonathan is a 15-year-old who started his journey in the summer of 2014 when he started complaining of leg pain. He was diagnosed with osteosarcoma in his femur in December 2014 and had a tumor resection with prosthesis placement and reconstruction, after which he started chemotherapy. The cancer metastasized to his lungs and he underwent a bilateral thoracotomy in late 2015, then developed Fanconi syndrome due to his chemotherapy.
This song & video, written and created with the music therapy program at Holtz Children’s Hospital (Miami, FL), is a testament to Jonathan’s strength, courage, and resilience. Jonathan is still going through his treatment and fighting today. In honor of International Childhood Cancer Awareness Day (February 15, 2016), be sure to learn the signs and symptoms of osteosarcoma and other forms of cancer.
