I wanted to welcome you to the family, but I see others have commented that exact thing already ^_^ I don't know exactly what it is but this video makes me feel proud. Proud of you for getting into the games and making this really good video, proud of the games, and of the fandom in general, haha! :D I think what really stands out about this series as opposed to other games in the same genre is the characters. You become a fan of Leon, of Claire, of Jill, or someone else. These characters are so fleshed out and different from each other, and eventually you'll realize you'll have a favorite. Mine are Ada and Leon, in that order. You may not be a horror game type of person but you still may have a special preference for some of these characters because they stand out so much. I hope you'll enjoy whatever game you go for next, and I'd love an update or review from you of the other RE games :)

RE is in my top 2 favorite overall gaming IPs (next to Devil May Cry) and I strongly recommend playing original RE4 as despite it being definitely more action oriented and less " scary" there is reason it is regarded as one of the best games ever made. It oozes the charm of video games from the early-mid 2000's. I would love it if you would consider playing some of the other RE games like 4,1,7,8 and making videos of your thoughts similar to this video. I think that would be interesting!

Before you play the remake of RE4 I highly recommend playing the original. If you liked the remake of 3 then you will enjoy the og re4 which is easily my favorite and imo the best in the series. I loved the original survivor horror games but I always feel like it's harder to get into sometimes and takes more effort for me to turn on the game and start playing them compared to the new resident evil games so I always end up just watching lets plays of those older games where as the newer ones I can kinda just have fun and relax.

7 is through and through a survival horror. I personally say 7 is better than 8. They are kind of like 2 and 3 respectively. Both amazing. 7 being the slower methodical somewhat harder game. 8 being the more action orientated more easy to get through game. Both great regardless. If you play 8 you wont have a clue about some stuff thats going on as 8 is a direct sequel to 7 and starts off literally months after the events of 7.

I love seeing people experience Resident Evil for the first time. This was an awesome video and I hope you play more of the RE games. The ones that I think you should 100% play are of course RE7 and RE8. But also playing RE4 original before the remake could make you appreciate the changes in the remake more, or maybe even end up preferring the original. That being said I think all the 'mainline' RE games are worth playing they're all good in their own ways.

Bro like I beat re4, but as a kid hated (shit still sucks❤) tank controls, and horror games, so I never picked up the serious again since then,I restarted my re journey in December 2022 with re 2 remake also, and have beaten re 1(2 times), re 0, 7, 4 remake, 3 remake,on a playthrough of code Veronica , read the novelization of 0,1, and finally halfway through the second of S.D. Welcome to the fandom. I've been a fan of Resident Evil since 00. Original RE3: Nemesis was my first RE game, so I've played all the classic games all the way to Village. I'm happy you enjoyed both remakes, and especially 3's remake because it's definitely underrated and I preferred it to 2's remake. If you haven't played the remake of 1, I suggest you do so because that's probably the definitive "perfect" Resident Evil game. I too am looking forward to the RE4R (even though I hold the original in VERY high regard and feel the game did not need a remake)

The beginning of your video hit with me on so many levels. I just started getting into the RE universe about a month ago, and OH MAN I CANNOT put these down. RE2 remake is probably my favorite. But remake 3 has its holy shit moments for sure! Going back to RPD in 3 gave me goosebumps and brought a whole new level of unease in a place I was much familiar with before. I highly recommend RE7. The scariest for sure in the series but IT DELIVERS. Also it’s needed as RE8 village is a direct sequel. Both are AMAZING games on their own and full of surprises along the way! Overall im hella excited for RE4! Can’t believe it has taken me this long to get into the series but SO glad I did. I can honestly say, CAPCOM you have made me into a huge fan! Loved this video! I'm watching throught playthrought of the original three, and I bought the 4th game because I want to play the original before the remake (since I couldn't do that for the first three). As someone who has also recently gotten into Resident Evil, I can agree with all of the points you made. RE2 and RE3 remakes are both excellent games and truly define their genre. However if you decide to play RE7 just know you’re in for a real treat. The jump to first person is amazing and the gameplay is just as good, it also truly embraces the horror aspect of the series as it holds some of the most horrifying experiences I’ve had playing video games 😂

I disagree, my first experience with RE franchise is OG RE3. After playing remake, it's really felt like cash grab. Let me point out why 1) small map 2) map felt like empty 3) sounds design is very poor 4) Jill is unlikable 5) nemesis chasing felt like chore and not scary 6) the plot from OG already paper thin, this remake make it felt like basic indie game Good thing about this game is 1) third person camera is my favourite in games 2) good visual 3) likable oliviera 4) they improvise oliviera story

I actually just wrapped up my first run through with Leon in RE2 remake earlier tonight. As a new fan myself, I’m just as impressed and immersed in this series as you are. Unlike horror films, I don’t really check out the horror-survival genre of video games (mainly because I’m a scaredy cat on that front). But having never played any of the RE games before, I wanted to challenge myself a bit. I jumped several times and can still hear Mr. X stalking me throughout the police station but I kept pushing myself because I was so fascinated with the story and the world that it was creating. Needless to say, I’m stoked to start Claire’s run, hop into RE3’s remake soon after and then await RE4’s remake next spring!

Why not playing OG? You should start with RE1Make, it's considered as the best remake game of all time. And then OG RE2 and RE3. After that RE4, 5 and 6. RE3Make changed many thing and very lackluster. I won't forbid you but nemesis in remake became chore instead of how scary Mr x is.

Than something happened RE 2 remake killed it gave capcom a second chance and they are running with it. I dont think RE8 Rose will ever turn up again as we are going to get a trilogy to end the Leon, Claire, Jill, Chris era it's what all of this is leading towards.

No comparison to the old games, just straight joy for what he just played. Both RE2 and RE3 original are still better games than their remakes but that's when you nick pic. RE3 remake is missing around 70% of the game btw. I would love to see you play RE0, RE1, RE2 and RE3 original, RE4 original and remake when it comes out, RE5 (skip RE6 pls... Don't touch that game), RE7 and RE8. The games have huge replayability due to their unlockables and unlimited ammo unlocks which can make the game fun if you like to shred or blow everything up. Don't even get me started on knife only runs. I'm subbing and looking forward to the Resident Evil videos. :)

Brooo I also started playing RE2 about a week ago. On Black Friday I saw RE2 and 3 on a discount and thought to myself: "Eh, might give it a shot" even though I was never invested in any of the characters or the story. A friend of mine recommended these games to me for the longest time but I always thought they seemed boring for some weird reason. But when I got those Black Friday deals... Oh boy he was damn right about these games. I finished RE2 with Leon and Claire in just 4 days and finished RE3 the next 2 days. It was a blast to play. Everything felt planned out and on point. Mr X almost gave me a heart attack when I first saw him and Nemesis basically is Mr X on crack so he scared me even more. Since The Last of Us 1 and 2 I haven't felt such a strong connection to any single player game (maybe because I havent played too many singleplayer games except for Skyrim which is amazing in its on way too) but these games rekindled my love for horror/survival games. I never thought I'd find a game as compelling as TLOU but RE2 and 3 really compete with TLOU for my favorite video games of all time. And yeah, after I heard about the RE4 remake I was hyped as never before because so many people believe it to have redefined the genres of horror/action/survival and that it set a new standard for video games. I also thought about giving RE5 and 6 a try but looking at the reviews I dont know if they would be able to compare with the remakes. Well, I started RE7 yesterday and it is the scariest part by far (at least for now) and I'm really looking forward to RE8 even though I'm mainly hyped on being able to play as Leon/Claire/Jill/Carlos again in some future installment. Let's hope RE9 or maybe even RE10 will give us these characters everyone has started to love. Everyone should at least try out the RE series, it's amazing once you get invested in the story and the characters, so if you haven't already, give it a shot! Resident evil 4 Is the first game I've actually ever played, Genuinely when I first played the resident evil 2 remake, Pretty sure I cried a little. Especially at the ending part. It's the personalities, They're real people with real emotions. I love you are a new found RE fan! Over all the series is a lot of fun. If you liked those remakes I'd recommend playing the originals. As an old school fan I thought the last 2 remakes were such poor adaptations of the originals it makes me want to quit the series for good with yet another on the horizon. As an old school fan, I don't think they are making the games for us anymore.

I'm the same, never played rese until res1 was free on psn. Then bought res 2 & 3 remake. Res 3 was good, could have been longer but res 2 was beast. Then played 7 & 8 on the ps5. Different spin but is awesome too. I just bought res4 remastered on the switch but haven't touched it yet. Wish me luck guys.

RE is one of those games with the impossible task of matching it's predecessor. Each RE game is compared to the one directly before it, often negatively, but not fairly. As a longtime fan of the series, I can only say RE 5 was okay and RE 6 was hot trash. Beyond that, all other games are great in their own way. Also, for some reason, and effort to put this franchise in movies or TV is almost always terrible, and it doesn't need to be. Just follow the source material lol.

I just finished the HD remaster of the first game and it was the most tedious and unrewarding game I’ve ever played. Here’s hoping the newer 2 and 3 remakes are a lot better because damn I wish I could get that 12 hours of my life back.

Play the originals, they have more charm than the remakes. RE 3 Reimagined is very bad in my opinion, RE2 R is fine, but nothing beat the originals and their mechanics

Unfortunately, I have to skip RE7 due to the first person only perspective after playing it a little bit...I literally got motion sickness after 30 min. Which is a shame because everything else in RE7 looks/sounds great. I hope Ethan is as awesome and likeable as Jill, Leon, Carlos and Claire.

I grew up with these games. They were never really scary for me because they were more cool/action to me. Silent Hill was also a game I grew up, so RE was never in that genre for me cause zombies and shotgun their heads off was badass. Me and my friends (like like age 3-4) would argue over who got to play with our Nemesis action figure, etc. The remakes are amazing, but you'll love the originals much more. Trust me. And if you haven't played RE1 REMAKE, play it!

I really wanted to like 3 remake especially because RE3 Nemesis was the 1st RE game and zombie media i ever saw at the age of 6, but so many from that game was cut, i think only 1 year of development and rushing the remake were big mistakes. Just hate the fact that those purist channels believe that RE is all about tank controls and puzzles and fixed cams and zombies, and the "if you only love the games after RE4 then you're not a true RE fan" argument is just BS to me. People can like what they like.

Just found this video in my recommendations. Here to relate to this title. I first played resident evil 2 remake in 2020 and watched playthroughs of the 2002 remake. As of this day, I have beat the remakes of re2 and re3, played through resident evil 5 and 6, played some of 7 and all of village. And beat resident evil 4 first on vr, second on PC and third on playstation. The remake is next on the chopping block.
