JESUS The corrosion on Tim's bars is INSANE! Love the Hambini call out! As for tools, I'm set. Having to work on my fleet of automobiles and race car helps with the surplus of tools. Probably have thirty 10mm sockets lying around, where I don't know but I have em! Fun vid Chris!

I also have "acid" sweat....I have actually had a aluminum handlebar break off in just inside the break levers while sprinting as I pulled on the bars....NOW only carbon for me.

Great video Chris, loved it...funny as. I had a Sensa bike with 105 which also would never index, always clicking or noisy. Replaced pretty much everything to no avail, it would index ok on a stand but underload riding it the noise was there. The bike had to go.....

I can tear down and build up a bike pretty well but the fine tuning stuff is difficult. You're right about having the right tools for the job. For the most part, I can make do with some cheap Chinese parts and a nice torque wrench so I can get things torqued to proper spec.
@mrjono9994 жыл бұрын
6:02 need to use a torque wrench there, 40NM, unless you do it everyday it's easy to over or under tighten. especially with those long levered tools.
@alen-commentnazi87743 жыл бұрын
40Nm is such a crock of sht for that
@mrjono9993 жыл бұрын
@@alen-commentnazi8774 how do you mean?
@mrjono9993 жыл бұрын
I get bikes in that have loose cassettes regularly in my shop, 40NM and a fresh crush washer is important. Also, over 40nm the threads can be damaged. It’s why it has a torque setting on the cassette, it’s not there for decoration.

btw. What are you supposed to do about handlebar corrosion? Does bar tape need frequent replacement?
@winstoncat67854 жыл бұрын
@Jason Dorset Mamil Cycling thanks!. I don't do indoor cycling, but outdoor is bad enough in summer. The problem is, there's just no going back when you change bar tape. But even doing so frequently, the metal parts of brake levers are vulnerable. I'll do both my bikes this year.
