To impose a sentence harsher than the State recommends makes an appeal much more likely. So that D.A. needs a straightening-out as well. Affirmative action, and demographic hirings. How many of these have you watched? Every one I have seen where the judge has seemed right out of it. The judge has been a woman not a male judge and a visible minority.
