After My Hero Academia Chapter 322 I better not be seeing any Bakugou Slander. We have had so many chapters building up to this very moment. We all know how much Bakugou has changed as a person, but for him to openly admit it not just to Izuku, but to the entire Class is a big moment for him. It shows his level of trust for Class A. He has finally called Deku.... Izuku for the very first time. This is a defining moment for the entire series too! The character development Horikoshi-sensei has written is impressive to say the least. Can't wait to read Boku no Hero Academia Chapter 323 next week!

True. This is excellent. But, and I REALLY hate saying this, but I worry Bakugo may have inadvertently put Deku in a Catch 22. I just don't think they haven't listened to what he has to say or really understand why Deku left as he did. It REALLY feels like the eye of the hurricane before it restarts and we see Dekus mental downward spiral continue. I don't think Bakugo is ready for what's likely in store. I'm hoping it turns out okay, but things always seem to get worse before it starts getting better for the heroes. All for One is not to be trifiled with.

And that's extremely important because it shows that Deku is Bakugo's closet friend because he never called anyone in UA even Kirishima by their first name. Only Midoriya and in Japanese culture calling someone by their first name means you have a close bond with them

At the risk of sounding like a fanboy, this chapter is personal peak for me for 2 reasons: 1. The conversation spanning pages 6-8 is Bakugou's character development reaching its peak; I don't see how he gets better from here 2. Uraraka Reaching out her hand and stopping Izuku from leaving is a almost catharsis from when she failed to reach out to Toga As nice as it is seeing Deku come home, I can almost hear All For One in the back saying “Wait for it...”

Bakugou's redemption arc has been completed. I love how his arc has been. He went from one of the characters I hate most to being one of my favorite characters. His growth is without a doubt one of the best I've seen. And I love how Horikoshi kind of flipped the talk-no-jutsu on its head. Instead of the main protagonist helping the rival complete their character arc with a speech, it's the rival giving the speech to complete their own character arc. This was such a good chapter in a phenomenal series. Now let's hope next chapter Izuku takes that shower or bath that Kaminari suggested.

@Frankie Seward and @i ishida that's a good point, I was mostly thinking with his redemption arc of going from a person who couldn't see past his own ego, who told Izuku to kill himself, into a much more humble person who actually apologized for what he did. But you both are absolutely right, their is still his insecurities, and everything involving surpassing All Might being number one, and everything that All for one is planning.

Despite all this - *Deku has not been saved yet from his mentality.* He was still ready to leave on campus seeing the people yell at him to leave, just as he expected for him seeming like a danger to be there. He just lost since he was tired, but no one yet convinced him to stay around (even with Bakugo's apology). Since the narrative went out of its way to show his harmful mindset, I really do hope it spends its time to address his poor mental health and how that aspect can be better resolved overtime to show the progressive development with his own personal introspection. Perhaps Uraraka really notices this now with the panels emphasizing her? It's like how Deku realized Eri needed the festival to help her be saved mentally, even after being physically saved from Overhaul.

What I appreciate about this chapter the most is we finally get more from Bakugou's perspective, combine them with how Horikoshi himself established Bakugou's attitudes towards Midoriya are motivated by 3 things: fear, rejection, pride, it's truly amazing how Horikoshi managed to write such a complext and most importantly consistent character developmemt Bakugou looked down on Midoriya because he's Quirkless, in his mind All Might is top standard while Deku is the bottom, but on that "traumatic" day when Deku reached out to him at the river, I think Bakugou saw a hero inside Deku, and that terrified him. The fact this Quirkless weakling might possesses the trait of a hero, the fact his amazing Quirk and strength might not be enough to be a hero, it terrified him. Yet Bakugou's pride won't allow him to admit Midoriya might has some something he lacks, so he turned that fear into anger and hatred, watching Deku never stop trying frustrated him cause it reminds him maybe one day Deku can actually surpass him, but he kept rejecting those possibilities It all changed when he entered UA, after his pride was shattered in the Battle Trial Arc, and was forced to acknowledge that strength alone is not enough to be a hero everyday in UA, which led to that terrible day when Bakugou was at his most vulnerable after All Might's retirement. He defeated Deku in their rematch but it only made things worse, cause it further proved Midoriya is indeed weaker than him, yet All Might still chose him, it's a reality punch that let Bakugou finally acknowledged that his ideal and admiration isn't enough to be the hero he wants. Thankfully All Might was there to explain to him, that Midoriya and Bakugou both possess the essences of heroes, "win to save, save to win", so instead of despair, Bakugou can at least saw his path forward Of course Bakugou was still a dick to Deku cause he's unironically a tsundere, but he still tried to atone his past action by helping Midoriya train and cares for him in his own way, it's not until the war arc when he saw him almost died, he finally made up his mind that he must actually apologized to Midoriya

Bakugo has been rising the ranks of the best characters for a few arcs now but now Bakugo is EASILY one of the best written characters in the show alongside Endeavour, Shigaraki and Shoto. I went from liking him to loving him. Horihoshi is in his fucking BAG right now and I truly think if he keep on this quality MHA will go down as one of the best shonen manga of all time. I cannot wait until Season 6 and 7 drop of the anime and people realize this greatness for what it is.

They may have stopped him from recklessly going off on his own, but the mental state hes in now is still unclear. Class A1 did all of this to bring him back, but they didn't magically solved his burden... they can say that, they'll carry the burden with him but I think that leaves a huge window of opportunity for AFO to break Izuku completely. This chapter can't be the end of the current Izuku. Horikoshi might bait us into thinking that after they solve the issues with the protesters, one burden will be lifted and Deku will finally open his eyes and smile like a cinnamon again. But nothing breaks a character more than false hope and the end results of trusting it.

Bakugou as a character is brash and can come off as quite rude but that's just how he is as a person, he's blunt and to the point and just says it how it is. Obviously his actions towards Midoriya weren't OK but he has shown his growth by acting civil with him after Deku vs Kacchan 2 and then developing further into becoming a good rival/ team mate or potentially in the future if it comes to pass a friend. Bakugou's base as a character is brash and rude, but that's just how he is as a person and Obviously people aren't so 2 dimensional and they have nuance and layers like what was shown these past few chapters is the layers of nuance and growth that Bakugou has as a person. I'm not in any way trying to defend his actions as a kid, what he did was wrong and he is beginning to realise the weight of his past actions and words.

Horikoshi is really showing outstanding skills in characters and dialogue writing. It would have been quite easy to turn the confrontation between Izuku and Class A into a festival of cliches and talk no jutsu to fix everything, but instead there really were meaningful callbacks to (in many cases often underrated) moments from earlier in the story that brought each character where they are now. And despite that, Izuku is still broken, to show that trauma is not something that can heal overnight. I am really glad that in a moment when the anime is underperforming, at least the MHA manga is hitting a peak.

This is the peak development of BakuBro, aka Great Explosion Murder God Dynamight. From being a mean and insecure bully to a great guy who has the balls to apologize, I feel proud for this young man. These previous chapters, the apparent "4th wall-breaking" of Izuku saying that his friends are no match to the Big Bad Guy is reminiscent to Bakugo telling his classmates back in middle school that they are just side characters. Well, well, well. Look how the tables have turned. Even righteous individuals may succumb to pain. Good thing Izuku has his homies standing with him. The last line portraying who will protect the heroes is a more personal take to the quote, "Who will guard the guards?". That line stings more than I expected.

The best chapter of MHA without question. bakugo has come full circle and I cannot emphasise enough how beautiful the shifting time perspective panels were while Bakugo was laying his soul bare to Izuku and if you notice, the first couple of panels during those time skips, Izuku's eyes were blank, almost like he wasn't registering that Bakugo was speaking to him but then you see the pupils start to come back again, like he's slowly coming back round to his senses after spending so long in a constant state of heightened readiness to the point where he was literally falling apart at the seams. And then there's 13's face reveal and to end all of that madness, Best Girl steps up to be not just Izuku's hero in that moment, but the hero OF heroes and I feel she's gonna make that very clear next chapter to the ungrateful masses that were trying to force Izuku out of his own school. Again, easily the best chapter of MHA to date and I can't wait to see what Best Girl is gone do in 323!

I’m appreciating this whole reunion and bakugo confession/redemption and I get Deku needs his education and all that; however, I will be disappointed if that’s the end of this rogue/vigilante/1 man army Deku arc and just returns to UA because it was taking such a massive shift in tone and the story was heading in a completely new direction. Like how you said there would be a major death soon to it being to happy, perhaps we’re not out of the woods yet and Shigaraki and AFO could strike back at Deku.

Deku attacking AFO, who by this time probably has Shigaraki's body working at 100%, would be absolute suicide right now. It would be comparable to Batman's "Knightfall" arc where Bane released all of Batman's rogues from Arkham Asylum, Batman goes on a 3 day marathon fighting villain after villain with no rest, and finally, at the end of the third day, Bane shows up at Wayne Manor, completely annihilates Batman, who doesn't have any more gas in the tank, and breaks his back, gaining full control of Gotham City for a short time. Izuku currently has Batman's same mentality during this arc, that he's the only one who can save the country from AFO's reign of terror, but even with superpowers he can't hold a candle to AFO alone. Class A (and hopefully B) realize this and have stepped in before Izuku has a "Broken Dekku" moment. I'm guessing these next few chapters will be the class or classes getting back together, talking with the pros about strategy, maybe have a chapter involving Stain seeing his dream of "real" heroes step up and making a decision on what side he should be on (keep in mind he respects Midoriya) and the Heroes launching one last desperate assault on All For One and the Meta Liberation Army. I HOPE that Shigaraki himself is able to vanquish All For One and have a two on one rematch fight with Deku and Bakugo, who by this point should be able to work together flawlessly (hearkening back to how much of a mess they were as a team when fighting All Might, just barely defeating him) but I think that may just be wishful thinking. Shigaraki's so OP that even if he can dispel All For One, the entirety of Class 1A will have to take him down.

And Deku’s development isn’t anywhere near done so for him to just change back this early would be pretty rushed and predictable. He needs rest, but he and the class need a giant wake up call eventually and AFO will give it to them.

Are you all fr praising him for doing what he should've done years ago in the anime? That was the most half assed apology I've seen. Deku deserves better after being bullied for most of his life. Bakugou might be a teenager but that's no excuse for what he did and he's never been reprimanded for it or faced consequences so to me this just seems like a way for him to get out of it with no in anime backlash. Until Bakugou gives him a proper apology I won't ever respect his character. Am i the only one who thinks the civilians and Deku are 100% right? Every time i hear them mention the UA barrier i think of Jaku and Deika being dusted like its nothing and am perplexed, i dont think super decay cares how thick your walls are, and if they have some magic anti-quirk material in the walls, why wasnt this installed in tartarus or any other major prison or hero facility? I agree with you fam. Everyone wants the story to be sunshine and rainbows but they don't realize that deku just being at UA puts everyone in danger. People are letting their love for the main cast cloud their judgement. Deku deserves to rest but it doesn't have to be at UA. Also tartarus was the most secure place on the planet and AFO still broke out and he had less resources then. Even if they did have anti-quirk technolgy it wouldn't effect someone with multiple quirks and a enhanced body.

Also if AFO attacked UA while Deku wasn't there, to break Deku as is clearly what he always has been doing, they would be in even more danger then when Deku is there to assist in the defense. Or do you really think AFO will just ignore UA and not lay a hand on the people Deku wants to protect as long as Deku just stays away ? At the end of the day that should be their priority number 1, or else they aren't really heroes. On the second one you have a point. But if Deku stays at UA, then no matter what AFO has to destroy UA and slaughter countless heroes and civilians to get to him. Staying on the move is still the safest route because he's not guaranteed to attack if he's not there. Class A can still stick with him as his sidekicks and watch things while he's asleep. But If they all stay at UA you are 100% going to have a massacre. If AFO comes after him while they are on the move, They will just have to do their best to evade him.

This was a extremely emotional chapter and amazing Bakugo moment with his apology here. This was truly amazing and unexpected to see, except for some. Also the Uraraka setup at the end was amazing and great to see her saving heroes when they’re hurting come back and full circle no less too like back in Chapter 306 at the end, she’s definitely confessing her love to Deku next chapter and will say his name Izuku and develop just like Bakugo did here. I also noticed something else amazing from rereading this chapter, I’m gonna share a comment I made for this chapter below that I already shared around on other videos. Here’s the comment and rest of the response here. I’m gonna send my comment here, I shared on this revelation I just realized from reading this chapter. So I found out the real truth to this, after analyzing. Horikoshi never wanted ONE person to save Izuku. He wanted 3 to save Deku, not one. Iida, Bakugo and Ochako. All 3, in an assembly line with their moments with him each having their own chapter, 1 chapter at a time from Chapter 321-323 in order from Iida, Bakugo, and Ochako in 323 finishing it off. That’s the truth, Iida wasn’t the only one to save Deku, Bakugo did too and Uraraka will as well in chapter 323. Horikoshi spelled this out to us in the last page and panel of Chapter 319 and were idiots as a fanbase and thought only one person was gonna do this. All 3 were meant to save him, not just one and he saved the most important for last to finally save him emotionally and inspire Deku and bring his smile back along with the people and that’s what Ochako will do and Chapter 323 will be about. The last page of 322 hints at all this. That’s the real truth of this and these series of chapters connected, with Class 1A minor characters in general just starting in 320 as a group, before the main 3 get chapters with Deku on their own, from 321-323 in order of Iida, Bakugo, and Uraraka all having a moment and saving Deku together in succession. Also the Volume 32 promo art showed Ochako screaming in tears into a megaphone and this chapter we see Present Mic with a Megaphone trying to calm down the angry crowd, so yeah that basically confirms Ochako's gonna take it and give these people a speech and a run for there money next chapter for sure. Ochako will save both Deku and the crowd's hearts and is paralleling Nana Shimura and her ideals. And Ochako is definitely confessing her love to Deku next chapter and will develop herself a ton by also calling him Izuku and being able to also say his real name, just like Bakugo was able finally develop and finally able to call him Izuku here this chapter in 322. Incredible stuff, Ochako’s moments in the next chapter in 323 will be amazing and just as emotional and incredible for sure, I can’t wait for it.

As much I am kinda glad that Bakugo finally apologize to Deku, my major concern now is the civilians' reaction towards the returning Deku, and it certainly not a "welcoming" one. Granted, they do fear that Shigaraki will come after Deku due to him being the latter's target, but the way they treating the poor guy is really uncalled for. Deku has been outside saving these peons from the villains at the expense of his health and psyche...and this is how these people repay the deed?!

My experience with Bakugou. I read the manga, got pretty far into it. I honestly forgot how much of a bully he was to Deku. Then I watched the anime, got pretty far into it. And I just forgot how much of a bully he was. Then eventually I rewatched the first episode and I was reminded how much as a piece of sh*t he was; and for the longest time (no matter what cool moments he had), I always couldn't forgive Bakugou for how much of a bastard he was in the beginning. Keep in mind, I was someone who was bullied back in school so this was a lil personal. Now, Bakugou has gotten to the point where I could finally root for him and forget the bad stuff he'd done in the past. The two points that finally changed my mind about him are when ------- *** SPOILER -He saved Deku from being stabbed by Shigaraki (during hero villain war arc) -He asks forgiveness for everything he'd done to Deku (this chapter)

Something that is often overlooked: Bakugo looks down to the ground when reminiscing the past and when he bowed his head to apologize. It's only when he stated Izuku's name that be looked Deku in the eye 😊. Horikoshi made us all cry. Last chapter, if was Iida; this chapter, it's Bakugo. 😭 When I was reading this chapter, I had to re-read again to make sure I didn't misread Bakugo's humble apology! I was flabbergasted by the narrative of MHA on many character developments, but this takes the cake!

Despite a lot of lines that are genuinely hard to translate in this chapter, and I think your version's translators really did an admirable job. I was struck by the translation of Bakugo's last line, "We get it." That's interesting. In Japanese, it's just "わーってる." Now, it's totally possible that Bakugo could be talking about all of class 1A, but reading it the first time, I had thought it was just "*I* get it / I know." That's something to think about for a while. I personally wondered about translating that line as "(I/we) gotcha" or something to that effect (so, a pun on physically catching him while he passes out / saving him from his time of desperation, and understanding where he's coming from). I guess that'd be adding in a double-meaning to the English that wouldn't be there in the original Japanese, though...
