I bought 18 broken Xboxes - Can I Fix Them and Make Money? These Xbox One S and X consoles came from a liquidation company. I'm hoping to be able to make money off this salvage lot but there are several problems with Xboxes that I've never been able to fix so wish me luck!

About This Video: Xbox One S and X consoles are usually not too hard to fix. That being said there are several problems that they have that I've never been able to figure out how to fix. I took a chance and bought 18 broken Xboxes from a salvage liquidation company to see if I could fix them and it I could make money on them.

I think it was overheating due to the dirty fan. It is then more like turn off, open, clean the fan, turn on. Also Idk about xboxes but with laptops the fan gets clogged with dust. They might have tried to clean the dust with vacuum cleaner or compressed air and when that didn't help they just called it.

I've fixed a lot o laptops, there's one thing that's coming to my mind which could help with the power. The power coils itself could be broken, i don't know why it happens exactly, but the way to check this is to heat them up with hot air and then try to power it up, if it starts, the power coils needs to be replaced. Let me know if that helped you.

yeah I actually got a ps3 from the tip that was taken in due to no sound and weird colours or so the guy there said, all I did was reformat it and it worked perfectly. it has a bit of dust in it and once I clean that up I think I can double or triple my money.

@@alek8835I personally am a pc gamer and wouldn't buy consoles for myself but loads of people like them. the ps3 is an oldish platform and as a result, has lost a lot of value but that doesn't mean it's lost it all. remember ps4 has no backwards compatibility so people do still buy them when their old ones break so they can still play their old games. it is also a 250gb slim which gives it more value then some of the older models, even the charcoal black colour can help it sell better. just cause it is old does not mean it's worthless or got no value, if you buy them cheap enough which I did then you can still make some profit off it.

I watched you plug in the first one and when it sparked I thought "why didn't he plug it in first, then turn the switch on, instead of just plugging it in with the switch on?" Then I remembered that the US doesn't have power outlets with switches. A year or more after my wife moved from the US to Australia, she asked what the switches were for. Kinda blew her mind. I generally do this with computers. I’m fine when it comes to hardware repair and getting pretty much any peripheral to work with any setup, and I’ve begun dabbling around with video game consoles because they’re so similar these days to micro ATX form factor computers. @Jason Kelly- It was an exploratory technique and he was correct, so... sorry you don't get it. No obvious burned diodes, capacitors or mosfets, so poke around where the OBVIOUS BURNED SHIT IS! What's so hard to understand about that? He knows circuit boards have layers and that the power supply is using at least one of those layers to transmit power to the MB. Charring and burning from a shorted connection happens when power is sent to ground via a path it shouldn't be on so he also knows that something in that area is shorting. Scrape the layers back and see if the short is alleviated. Voila! This was a good example of exploration and improvisation from a solid base of general electronics knowledge. It's brilliant actually.

@@kaydog890 For your own use, data recovery etc it is, but to sell it I definitely agree. Although I'm more concerned at what burnt in the PSU, I can't imagine it lasting very long and I personally would feel very uncomfortable leaving that PSU plugged into the mains 24/7 after that.

I was a little surprised too, but you need to consider that circuit boards are just layers of copper conductors separated by non conductive layers. He essentially cut off the bad areas. I would personally feel obligated to run it for several weeks before I felt OK about selling it. On the other hand, Steve is PRO.
