I have terminal cancer too. I was given 1-3 years to live with no hope of ever changing it. 8 years and two bone marrow transplants later I’m still here. 2022 was a bad year for relapsing. I was completely paralyzed from the neck down from a large tumor growing in my spine which was pressing up against my spinal cord. It literally cracked my back bone in half. I felt it at work.. 98% chance I would never walk again . Three days later I took two steps. My cancer mutated from blood to tumors. Yes tumors plural. Spine and ribs. Funny thing is that I was told I was cancer free literally 10 days before my surgery. 6 screws and two rods in my back. T1-3 permanently fused together. I fight for every day I have.

My wife was diagnosed with CML (Chronic Myeloid Leukemia) in 2006. She's been taking meds ever since, and the meds just wipe her energy. She recently, within the last year or so, was told that her counts are almost at 0. It'll never be 100% gone as it's a bone marrow cancer, but the doc told her she's in remission! I'm very happy to hear you are in remission as well. When I finished college for electronics technology, one of the things that happened, was that motherboards became cheaper to replace than getting someone to replace a resistor, diode, etc.. Kinda felt like I went to college for nothing at the time. Fast forward 25 years or so and I found your channel. It was so awesome to see someone doing component level work, and I've stuck around since. So thank you Steve for what you do, and the content you make, so an old guy like me can enjoy the craziness of component replacement. lol. Thanks again, and congrats for being in remission!!

Can't tell you how happy I am to hear about your health. I think after watching people's videos or listening to their music, or whatever, you kind of get to know that person. I'm having some health issues myself. To the point that I lost the drive to work on my projects. I still enjoyed watching videos on the subject, though. When I started binging your videos, I saw what you were going through and really was concerned. The other thing I saw, though, was you were still working. Still fixing things. Your positive attitude was contagious. I started working on my gameboys again and made the connection between my recovery and the resurrection of these old systems. Two months later, my health is improving, but more importantly, my attitude is recovering too. Some people hide when they're hurt, you just kept on pushing through it.Your videos and your positive outlook are very helpful. I really appreciate both, and I'm looking forward to more of the same in the future! Cheers!
