Evs have their niche but I think it's like propane cars in the 80's....cost you thousands and thousands more for not much gain. An ev truck would work fine for me, I only drive 2500 kms a year...but not for $90,000 CDN. I can buy 35 years worth of fuel for that. To tell you how much fuel I use: I put $40 worth of gas in my truck 6 weeks ago and I still have 1/4 tank.

When gas was cheap I would spend $400-$450 a month but then when it started going up I dropped my driving and it went down to $250 a month but then when everything went up I dropped it to $1500 last year and this year I am well below that number at only spending $88 on gas so far this year and the first quarter is almost over. But everyone wants me to spend $50,000-$100,000 on an ev to save gas money. They say you will be ahead, not in my book.

I love it. You’re right charging infrastructure not yet up to the task. I’m a year into owning a Rivian R1T taken 3 road trips and have never looked back. Never been stranded. 🤞. Never looked back. Get the charger installed = gas station in your garage.

Having sold my BMW EV 18 months ago, I can attest that these vehicles are not great in a cold climate. There are too many negatives to list here but I would not consider another EV. Plan on about $700 for a home charger plus the cost of an electrician to run a 24V outlet to your garage. Sorry, but I do not think this was a good investment, I believe you will also lose money when you sell, much as the dealership took a bath on this vehicle.

As an ev owner in a cold climate, one suggestion I have to get heat faster is to put the hvac on recirculate mode when it’s cold out so you’re not constantly trying to heat up colder air. Car will heat up much faster

It sounds like you need to buy a charging station for your home as soon as possible. Your residence is not sweet as in home sweet home until you put an quick charger in your garage.

So as a Born and Raised Vermonter I said No to EV but I now live in Mesa Arizona and drive 77 miles round trip to work so I Bought a Solo made by Electra Meccanica for Yup $18,500 and have put 8500 miles on it in 6 months with no issues...I did put a 220 line in at home for a faster charge but I'm 100% Satisfied...I know it is not for everyone but it works for me 😁 Enjoy your EV and I will enjoy your Videos 😁

If nothing else, drive it a bit & run it back through an auction in another region where the infrastructure is more adequate. You can probably get $85-$90k fairly quickly If you keep the miles reasonable.

No worries Craig, you do you. That’s why I like your channel. We never know what to expect. I believe EVs have a place in our society. But, with a BIG B, they will not replace the billions of gas and diesel powered vehicles around the world. The technology is promising, but too expensive and environmentally unfriendly. You will have to install a charging station at home, and at work, if you want to charge it there. So, you’re not quite through spending yet. A quick charge charging option is pretty necessary. EV's are OK if you realize the limitations. Great commuters but not so great if you are on a long trip. Also range sucks in the cold....can you say NH in winter? Lots of charging in the cities but not so good in the country. Have fun with it and expect it to cost you some money when you sell it.

Best car I ever had/built 2006 audi S4 avant manual 6 speed with an aftermarket supercharger. It was 1 of 6 in North America in that configuration. It was a beautiful car and so much fun.

I have a friend that had your vehicle. He sold it for a Tesla and is happier with it. Didn't like how the Audi sat, and it was hard for him to get in and out of. Hope you like it. I like the EV technology, they're very fast and low maintenance, but I love the sound of a V8.

They sell dryerplug to ev charging, I want to go that route when I go ev and stick the cable out the dryer vent. If you have a dryer in your garage you will get lucky. I think you can split the power too

E tron and Tycan are terribly small inside for a big car, I hardly fit in the drivers seat with it all the way back, and no one can sit behind me, which makes it a three person car. It’s basically the same size as a Panamerica but much smaller inside.

In Australia they have a 5 year warranty unlimited milage for the time, if you buy the 1year old one , the warranty still goes with it like that would be 4 years

Not having seen an electric Audi in person, I would assume the fit and finish is far ahead of Tesla. Also, what are the driving dynamics and interior noise level (sound insulation) compared to a Tesla? Just from a design perspective this car outshines a Tesla for sure. I've ridden in model 3's and Y's and those have noisy, harsh rides. Can't speak to the S or Plaid's ride quality as I've never been in one.

It’s these mainstream manufacturers that will make or break evs. Evs need the economy of scale to bring prices more inline with ice vehicles. Here in Australia, a home charger with a decent solar array and a battery wall and you would never need to charge away from home except on long trips.

For the price you paid, great buy. I looked at one yesterday, just didn't like the rear legroom. I have a s5 Sportback now for my daily (c8 htc for fun) , rear leg room is about the same. Tesla keeps dropping their retail price, so I think big changes are coming soon. bad time to buy a Tesla. Also, I think you can now charge at Tesla superchargers.
