These bikes have pretty decent engines, the engine is made by zongshen. They are pretty popular engine manufacturer so you should be able to get parts for them. might have to ship them from china though so it can take longer to get parts. I used to have a 2009 pister pro lxr160 with a 160cc zongshen engine and that bike lasted over 10 years of hooning. And I replaced the piston and rings for around $30.

What is the starting procedure for the TM31 (If I'm missing something)? Not counting; Hooking up battery, fuel on, key on... It kicks over and starts to idle, then dies, with or without choke on. Once in a while if I have throttle about 1/4 it will start and run right up to about 2 or 3 thousand rpm, sounds fine, then let off the gas and immediately dies. Is there some kind of disable feature, or? My elevation is about 500'.
@inoutdoors6242 жыл бұрын
Although they do come pretty lean, I am also at roughly 500' and didn't have that issue. If it starts with the throttle partially open, have you check the idle screw? My throttle cable was adjusted all the way out so mine actually idled super high at first.
@bikersoncall2 жыл бұрын
@@inoutdoors624 Is the idle screw the knurled knob on the left side of carb, sticking out horizontally around the middle are of carb? If so, the head of it is right up against the frame. Too all the sh/it talkers out there, there really are well made Chinese dirt bikes. Just for the record, pretty much all 300cc and under dirt bikes from Honda, Kawasaki, Suzuki, and Yamaha are NOT made in Japan. the high end MX bikes are. All the small stuff is made by license and design in Indonesia, Tailand, Taiwan, etc. Also for example: Loncin who makes the harbor freight engines, is a division of Yamaha. Loncin makes parts for everybody, and is a large manufacturer or side by side parts for Yamaha and others. KTM frames are made by a Chinese company. Well made frames! KTM thinks so. These Trailmaster bikes are nice! I have both Kayo and GPX Moto motorcycles. VERY WELL MADE! You could go and purchase a Yamaha TTR 230 for $5400 and get that awesome drum rear brake like the Brady Bunch use to have. Same goes for the Honda CRF 125. It's a global market. One more example would be MOOG suspension components company. A VERY big name brand. use to be all USA manufactured. Not any more. MOOG products are now made in 16 + different countries. Same with Timken bearings.

Thank you for the great comment. I couldn't agree more! I love your MOOG and TIMKEN example. I used to specifically purchase those two brands until I started having major QC issues in the last 10 years. I bought the KLX140 to build a super mini because it was the only one that offered a rear disk brake. I bought the Trailmaster because chinese bikes are starting to get more serious media attention and I wanted to see for myself. It really is a great little bike. "Purists" will always have a lot to say. The only issue I have with the newer brands is the parts availability. If you want to ride and have fun its a lot of bang for the buck!
