The popping out the exhaust on deceleration means your carb is too lean. Change the jetting to about three numbers richer to improve performance and cool off the internal atmosphere before you burn a valve, melt the ring lands or a ring that will gald the cylinder. If it starts easy when cold and idles well, leave the idle jet alone. Change the jetting before you change carbs because it will more than likely need rejetting as well. The 28mm carb will give you a better bottom end or lower rpm torque than a 30mm. A 30mm will give you a higher revving engine but lose pulling power for long hill sides we all like to 'tractor up'. We have them a couple of the fellas and myself the Templar is a very solid machine I would recommend putting a nibbi 30mm carb and an rk chain also dielectric grease is your friend 😁 I have a beta xtrainer which the Templar is Not but it is a very solid machine 😎 kzbin.info/www/bejne/fF62kmyBeMx0pKMsi=rNYPqhbmHm6yxEpT

They are pretty solid bikes! I was a bite skeptical at first but turned out to be worth it!
