I bought an old Dart from a friend of mine for sixty bucks, because he changed the plug wires all at once. He couldn't get it to run no matter what he did. My best friend and I towed it home, grabbed the Chilton's and had that Leaning Tower of Power purring in ten minutes. I had learned my lesson. I always change the plug wires one at a time. Even years later, I had bought a little Toyota Hilux (Daddy to the Tacoma) and it developed a vacuum leak. Rather than chasing vacuum leaks for a year as the rest or the lines got cracked, I bought about 2o feet of vacuum hose and did the same thing. Take one off, use it to measure the new hose, install it. That little truck had so many lines I would never have gotten them all right any other way. Thanks again to you and your family for all the great content, and your dedication to America and veterans. All the best to you, always.

Advice on de-pinning harnesses like that. Buy some of the rubber plugs for the connector and put them in the holes where you removed the wire to maintain the water resistant rating. Or put some rtv in the hole. De-pinning and leaving the holes open will result in corrosion of the connector. Not sure if Holly includes the plugs but would be a nice addition to the kit if they don't.

Hey Derek, loving your videos all the way down here in Australia. I know it would be a huge expense but I'd love to see you with a dyno. With so many different projects and drive trains it would be awesome to see the before and afters for each car. Even if it was just a tune after a resurrection it'd be great to see what a few turns on the fuel makeithapenner and a twist of the old lightningwirler could do in terms of some extra horsepowerseses. Keep up the great work mate.
@MrWolfSnack11 ай бұрын
You would be amazed how cheap you can get a basic vintage, run-down dyno for. I see them sometimes being sold by race car teams that find them in some old barn or something that hasnt been run in decades with no care to fix it because they can afford a brand new one. They just sell them for a pittance. The technology doesnt change at all, it just gets rated with a higher top end measurement as cars and engines get faster. One from the early 90s would do a basic DIY guy just fine.

I have been enjoying your adventures since you started your KZbin channel. Looks a quality build on this Buick. I found you entertaining as well as educational. Looking forward to seeing more of this Buick in up coming shows. Looks to be a very nice Buick as well as very possibly a fast Buick. I had a very fast 1968 Buick Grand Sport 400 Sport. It had a pretty stock 430, 4 barrel Quadra jet Carb. Some type of Camaro Differential? Rear was sitting high with duel exhaust and a 2 by 6 black painted wooden front bumper. Never lost a race in it, but the high rear end made handling a bit dicey at time's! I hope that you keep up the good work!

What a beautiful Regal. Not gonna lie, if I were in your shoes and saw that car, I'd have been very tempted to keep it and find another car for the giveaway... Kudos to Derek for seeing it through, as usual.

As with fuel tanks, the “quick jerking motion” and putting one’s back in it work best, I use it for most things, actually! Great episode, thanks Derek!

Sick dude! I’ve got a 73 nova custom I’m trying to finish rebuilding a 355 for before I go off to college in the fall. I make my first ever pass down the drag strip tomorrow with it and I’d like to get to make a pass with the new motor before I go.

“Another EFI, boring “ NOWAY. I tell you what’s boring is spending your weekend in the spring cleaning up the carb instead of enjoying driving your new car. I’m glad your putting a sniper on it. Can’t wait to see the build. Looks awesome
