Good job mate. There's a tip that I learned the hard way for the top cover of the Xbox One. Separate the top cover and front panel, and it's 10x times easier to put back together at the end (I didn't even know they came apart!). 😁

This is very true, I have the Star Wars Xbox 360 and its awesome to hear the little R2D2 beeps on it. Excellent attention to detail. Sony just seem to print a custom shell and leave it at that.

With what he paid overall for the quality of a LE console, that is a bargain. CEX sell the original, standard XB1, used and unboxed for £95! Over £100 for a boxed one, that is just a standard black, 500G. The Forza controller alone in CEX is £55! So i don't see your point? Because he got it working for less than you can buy a working Limited Edition console online.

If this does not work for you, my Xbox would not give me the troubleshoot screen to pop up when I held down the two buttons upon start up, but I held the power button down until it did a factory reset when it was on to turn it off, and then when I turned it back on I held down the power button alone until it did something weird after about eight seconds, then the next time I started it and press those two buttons it did allow the troubleshoot menu to come up

I bought one of those in 2015. It had a persistent issue where the controller would disconnect at random. I sent it to Microsoft, and even they couldn't fix it. In the end it went back to Amazon. I do miss the engine start sound.

I’m unfortunately having to attempt surgery on my forza edition tonight. She ran like a champ for almost 8 years without a single problem but I think my hard drive finally bit the bullet. I’m convinced they make all their profit from controller sales. I’ve went through at least 25-30 controllers in the lifespan of this console haha

I've had this xbox for around 3 years now. Its out lasted 2 xbox one x's. I have a strong belief the original xbox one fan design is a lot more efficient than the one x variant. I know the x has more power, but even 10 year old me knew that heat rises, not sideways. The fan being mounted on top is my reason for me believing this is the more efficient model. Am I wrong?

Honestly, I think you're onto something. Shitty thermals and inefficient exhausts kill electronics - especially consoles. Hell, try adding a few top exhaust fans on top of a PC and you'll see noticable temperature and sound difference.

@@duduoson5278 It just makes no sense to build a console with more powerful components, then give it less than adequate cooling. To top it off, the x is smaller and has to house a hot psu. It reeks of a money pit. They had the same fan system on the 360 and look what happened to that. They put a vertical fan system on the slim and immediately improved the life of them. It’s done on purpose.

Late reply to this, but I had that problem also (and my console was out of warranty by like a day) and it turned out the issue was that card that Stez didn't put back in properly the first time. I bought a replacement one and it worked perfectly after that!
