I had an 01 in similar condition. Loved it. Don't know why I sold it. Best generation of tahoes. The only problem with them is if you have the castech heads and can get the sludge problem but that's more common in 05/06. A little seafoam in the crankcase breaks it up though. Good luck with it.

Just bought an 02 yesterday w/132k. Hate to say it but mine is actually a 95point vehicle. Almost "showroom". Will have issues I am sure but parts are available and overall easy to work on. Best of luck to both of us.👍

I bought a one owner 2005 Escalade last year with 157k and clean as can be. I like it used 17” rims, the ride is fantastic. Has everything I need, having an iPhone, takes care of the rest. Crashed an ‘05 Silverado that had almost 300k and by far the best/dependable vehicle I’ve ever owned is why I went back to a GMT800 platform….a little extra Luxury is very nice!

I like the 2000 through 2006 Tahoes and Yukons i had one of those myself but it got wrecked i miss it i used to call her LA GUERA cause it was white in color.

That 4l60e is going to fail around the 250k mark so be prepared for that...either rebuild it or swap for a 4L80e

Picking up my brothers tahoe soon it's a 03 with only 114k on it. Looks brand new. I should be getting it for 7k I'll keep watching your channel to see what you do with it. Being without a payment is huge I know. I could see it on your face you looked like it was a big relief. Good luck on your new ride.

Hey man, I’m about to sell of my Ranger to buy an 01-06 Tahoe. I’ve heard many great things about these vehicles and how reliable their engines are! I see this video was posted a year ago, and I was wondering how has yours held up? Do you have any tips/anything to look out for? Thanks!

197k miles and counting. It's a daily driver, lifted now on 33s and 20 inch wheels. I love it just as much now as then. Just check for rust and make sure the trans shifts good through all gears and you'll be fine

I recently bought a 2003 chevy tahoe for 3k. Drives great, little bumpy because of the 22 inch rims. But roars beautifully. On the dash is 172k miles.

2yrs late me I have a question bout Smokey, my cousin has a Tahoe I think around a 02-06 and he says he just randomly stopped running when he was otr and mechanics can’t figure out the problem, have u had any major issues yet? I found a cheaper Tahoe that I’m considering but wanted to get input

How’s the transmission holding up? I’m looking at a 03 with 164k

So far so good. Just clicked over 199,500 miles. Overall the tahoe is holding up. Just general maintenance. Wheel bearings brakes and rotors. Been chasing an evap leak or canister failure engine code but other than that it's good.

How good is the truck on gas? My dad has one and I'm trying to decide if I should get his for a daily.

Before I lifted it and put 33s and 20s on it I got about 16 or 17mpg. After it held around 12 lol
